Well I'll be blowed!!

It would have to be 3rd place the Triumph T90 - my first serious experience of motorcycling.

2nd place the Ducati 998 - sheer enjoyment of riding a very special machine for 16 years and loving every minute of it.

1st place has to go to the Triumph T100 Bonneville and sidecar - quite simple really, a 50 year old dream come true which has given me a new lease of life.

It's very popular down here and thought you may have been. There are long straight dual carriageways and a variety of roads suitable for biker clubs. It's on the foot of scenic Box Hill near Dorking (National Trust) with forest and other hills where I walk, as yesterday, unless I can get to Eastbourne for a day or three to walk the Seven Sisters I remember you mentioning.

Dorking is ideal for any route to the south coast resorts east from Brighton if you want to avoid motorways. I have hundreds of pics of Boxhill and Seven Sisters / Birling Gap / Cuckmere Haven though they all look the same! :)

Added: Don't come for the food as the burgers are bland and it's a very small menu but it's a good stop off. They may be improving though, and there's Box Hill cafe at the top of the hill via Zig Zag Road.

Ah well, that was another of my cock-ups. I was responding to a guy who mentioned seven sisters and then went on to ask me about my avatar picture of the Triumph so thinking he was a biker too my mind did a complete flip and I thought he was referring to the Three Sisters race circuit near Wigan, which I have been to many times, and when I re-read the post I realised he was referring to his three sisters and a big brother, so I did a quick edit of my post!!!!

You must have spotted it before I did the edit.

So no, I've never been in that neck of the woods.

:)

Lol.
There were interesting bikes down there at Ryka's.

Would you believe it!!

Back in hospital this afternoon, the old stomach went apeshit again on Friday evening and I ended up with the 'gooey froth' reflux again, so by this morning when it had not cleared, we rang the oncology unit, bearing in mind the advice previously given to us, and they whistled up an ambulance for me and I was brought here in style.

One irony is that it is only the second time I have been to hospital in an ambulance. The first time was the incident which I referred to in my first post!!!!

The major downside is there is no visiting, but hopefully I won't be in long. I've been on the IV drip since six o'clock.

Not surprisingly I'm feeling much better already.

:)

Sorry you had a temporary set back @tommo47.
Glad you're starting to pick up again. Trust you're not in for long.
Go Triumph mad. Plenty of Summer left

The IV drip worked as usual and I was discharged late yesterday afternoon.

The palliative care team are on the case so we will hopefully sort out the prevention of the 'froth' reflux problem.

:D:D

I hope you are feeling a little stronger, @tommo47.

I only post because I had just turned the TV on silently and wondered if you caught a very small piece on sidecars and Watsonian on Antiques Road Trip just now.

I had another endoscopy yesterday and a second stent was inserted inside the first stent to strengthen it and provide a wider passage for the intake of food and water and enable me to expell the trapped wind which has been a serious problem over the last few weeks. Hopefully that will be the end of the 'froth' problem.

:thinking::)

Sounds like it's been really rough Tommo.

I trust they have a handle on anything similar in the future, and its mostly up from here.

I hope that gives you your strength, and confidence to travel back very soon.

There would have been a Private Message and a Posse heading your way after 2 weeks if you didn't take up your forum duties again this month. :)

Take it slow and easy, and best wishes.

Really hoping the second stent rids you of the awful frothing problem, @tommo47. That just has to be miserable.

Is it sizzling on your side of the pond like it is here? Hope you're staying cool enough, if so.

Oh, please send some of that rain here! Wildfires are raging in several areas, including California. We could use the moisture!

How are you feeling today, dear?
