Weren't There 2 Color Choices?!

I went to a friends jewelry shop and put the phone under a pure white light (used for grading gemstone color) and much to my surprise I saw some blue specks. So I looked at it under 10x magnification.

The black plastic case is painted with a clear coat with blue metallic flakes in it (the clear is a somewhat educated guess). Which would explain the "it only looks blue in certain conditions". I'm no expert in painting but I have had some experience.

The end result is I was wrong and have a "blue" phone. At least no one bricked their phone because of my mistake.

Most of here don't go around bricking our phones because of color difference! That's very sweet of you to consider that! It's quite alright, Besides we all know our phone looks semi-black. It would of been really really nice had the phone turned out to be actually black, Or even if there was a silver one but, We all still love our Ascends. Perhaps our phone is a chameleon? Changes colors on it own? Could be that magical Huawei logo man...*Giggles*

LOL. I meant that as least my mistake was about something as simple as color and not something major like "forgetting to put the word NOT in instructions" that someone following my advice bricked their phone.

I'm a purist! I love black phones! The only time I notice my phone isn't really black is when I look at the back and think about it. And so I just don't think about it. ;)

When I took off my cover I had scratches. I think dirt gets in my case and rubs the paint.

Black and brown are my favorite colors!

You can buy boxes of little wipes made especially for electronics. They do a fairly good job...when they get dry. LOL
 
I clean mine with a mix of Captain Morgan and paint remover. It works wonders on stubborn finger prints..

I have a microfiber cloth for waxing and detailing cars. I use it dry with no cleaners and it takes the finger prints off on the first wipe. No smudges or smears.
 
I got a case for mine too it would kind of slide and i was bored and took it off to admire my phone lol an it had scratches i almost died. There was like dirt or something on the case so i cleaned it out and got a piece of paper towel and cut the necessary holes and placed it between the case and the back of my phone lol! It doesn't slide around anymore :D just thought id share my story lol
 
Reading all these posts made me have to pull mine out and look again. As far as I can remember, it's always looked blue to me, but looking at it now (under less than ideal lighting conditions, it does indeed look very close to black. Very odd. Now if they had presented me with options for a second color, and had it been that silver, I would have definitely gone with that, just because it looks so sleek and sexy.

As for those pics with the speaker grille positioned over to the side, perhaps they position it differently on Chinese or other region phones. That or they revised the design before they started selling it here, hard to say. That could have even been just a demo pic, and not even a working phone.

Excellent tip, Chum!!! I don't like keeping mine in a case but if I did I would definitely do that. Very ...highly...innovative. :D

The funny thing is now that I know mine is Blue I see it more. The human eye is an amazing thing.

I thought that was the Japanese. Either way works for me. I have a thing for Asian women.

All cases are not created equal. I have the black rubberized hard case by amzer and the phone doesn't move around at all. It feels solid as a rock. I would stay away from the cheap cases they sell at the cricket store.
 
Yeah i agree Gmash but i got the case when i got the phone. Had no idea it was going to scratch my phone. The rubberized case is what i want but i haven't got around to getting one.

Take the phone and place it under pure white lighting. This phone is such a dark blue it mistaken for black. I did ask my Metro Pcs friend, He said they only sell it in Blue. This phone will not show it's "Blueness" unless you are under certain lighting conditions. ^^.
