OK, I am new to Android as a whole and Im loving the experience up until now. and i am very glad i found this forum. I just have one question. Does anyone have the silver version of the ascend. I have read somewhere that there is a blue and silver version, and when i bought my phone, i completely forgot i had those 2 colors to choose from and the salesperson just gave me a blue ascend, but i am just curious to know if it a ssilver version is available for Cricket and if anyone has it.

I have Metro, But I looked on the Cricket website and they say they sell the silver one. I'd suggest calling Cricket tomorrow or looking on their website yourself if you are looking for it. ^^. It does say that it is an "In stock" item though.
Yes, the cricket site says there is a silver one, but I was just curious since i have never seen anyone in real life or in videos (3 friends got the Ascend after I introduced it to them, they loved it) nor have I heard about anyone with a silver Ascend. If the blue one is in stock and the silver one is out of stock, shouldn't more people have the silver one instead? Im starting to think that they only offer the blue, at least in my area. Chicago. Perhaps it says "Out of stock" because it's just now being introduced? I know that they introduced the blue on first. Perhaps your area will be getting the silver one soon? That's just a guess though. By the way welcome to the Forum and to the Ascenders!

Sure haven't. I know Metro doesn't carry it and most likely won't either. I even youtubed it, No such luck. I do see how on the website it points out it's "Silver features". Perhaps we misunderstood that as thinking there was an actual silver phone?Thank you very much

I'm with r0ckstarr in that I prefer darker colors on my electronics too. If I can, I order/buy them in black like I did my other laptop. Not this laptop, this was a freebie and it's...silver!! *pukes*

I just google searched and that one you linked to must be a preproduction unit, because I've never seen one with a back case that looked like that.

You have a black one? I wish mine was black. I've only ever seen the blue ones. I think all cell phones should be black. Could you post a pic?

Shipping Ascends in black and silver must be very new because I just Google Imaged Black Huawei Ascend and Silver Huawei Ascend and it just comes up with Ascends with a black case or a glittery case.

A black Ascend? No way. LOL. I've never heard of them coming in anything but, a super dark blue. I thought mine was black at first until I took the case off to look again. I was like "Oh".
I took some pics with my work Blackberry. I'll post them as soon as I can. At work in my phone right now.

On the Metro site the pictures show a black Ascend, but at the bottom of the page in the Specs section it lists the color as Blue. That seems a tad bit deceiving. My zip 48393

Both front and back. Sorry about the poor photography. I was at work and had to use my Blackberry (the Ascends camera is so much better, but no flash). I've had my phone in sunlight and brightly lit rooms and it's always looked black.

All of the pictures in that search that are either all black or silver have some sort of case on them. Mine is a dark (almost black) blue and silver. I believe the color is 'blue/silver' (meaning blue with silver trim) and that's the only available option. At least that's all I've ever seen, and it seems to fit the Cricket website's description. Mine looks like all of the ones in those google searches that don't have cases on them. The blue is VERY dark and only looks blue under the perfect lighting conditions. I could be wrong though.

His looks black but, Then again I totally just took off my cover. Mine still looks black in my slightly lit room. Let me see. Darn. Screen shot can't take a picture of the back of it. (LMAO, It's late I'm tired). I still can't really tell even based on his pictures but..Oh well. If it IS black though, I'm jealous. If I can get a black one too... Me Gusta!
P.S Just tried taking a picture of it in all lighting. No matter, It comes out looking black. X.x Hmm...

yeah, mine is blue too, although it almost looks black. I haven't seen any silver phones either, but you can get a slick silver hard case for it though.
Okay. this has been driving me crazy. How can I be the only one with a black phone? Like I said earlier I've had my phone in sunlight and brightly lit rooms and it's always looked black.
I went to a friends jewelry shop and put the phone under a pure white light (used for grading gemstone color) and much to my surprise I saw some blue specks. So I looked at it under 10x magnification.
The black plastic case is painted with a clear coat with blue metallic flakes in it (the clear is a somewhat educated guess). Which would explain the "it only looks blue in certain conditions". I'm no expert in painting but I have had some experience.
The end result is I was wrong and have a "blue" phone. At least no one bricked their phone because of my mistake.
