Root what am i doing wrong?

Well its either me or rom manager. I was trying to go back to my last backup which is 2.2stock. Do I have to go into recovery and wipe data and cache or just install zip. I tried through rom manager and I hit the backup and it came up the droid bot with the exclamation inside a triangle and booted the one im already on. Which I'm on 928 blackglass. It seems my rom manager never wants to make backups right so I go through bootstrap and then when I go to rom manager it shows in my backups, then I just rename it there. Maybe its me or maybe rom manager is faulty, probably me. Any help would be appreciated!

ok i know you may like rom manager but you dont need to its too wishy washy for me but thats just my opinion ...heres what i do and many others and it works fine
open bootstrap loader app
hit bootstrap recovery then you will get a success prompt ...hit ok
now hit reboot recovery which is right under bootstrap recovery and this will take you into recovery mode
now to make a backup while in recovery scroll to BACKUP/RESTORE option select it
now select backup and your backup will be generated and then just reboot once finished
now to restore do the same as above but when in recovery select RESTORE rather than backup
this option will bring you a list of backups you have made NOTE(when you have multiple backups it can be confusing since the are listed in recovery by date....you can always rename your backups though your file manager just be sure to leave no spaces when renaming ....rom manager will generate and close the spaces automatically for you but like i said i dont use it)
now you just select which backup you wish to restore and go for it then reboot
you do not have to wipe anything to back up or restore

Now that's what I'm talking about! Thank you so much gmenfan83, exactly what you told me and I successfully restored my backups! I did all 3, maybe a little excessive but they all went without a hitch ran perfect. Now if I want to run rubix or apex should I use my last backup with the 928 blackglass on it, or the backup before it with no theme but not deodexed? should I do a wipe after I download the rom but before I install?

ok here is where reading what the dev posts about the ROM you may want to install comes in handy ...most but not all roms come deodex ......if it does you can go to your backup before 928 if it doesnt come deodex then you will need to flash over 928......this is what i do and it works great always a clean point to install roms ....but always make sure you find out if the rom is deodex first ..it should be posted by the dev in his instruction and changelogs etc...usually the first post and if you have to ask in the thread before jumping in but most roms are deodex already......now i like to make it a rule of thumb to ALWAYS clear data and cache when installing a new rom and yes you are correct ...you would restore your backup then download the rom then wipe then install
and in the case of rubix and apex you dont need 928 they come deodex to further answe your question...hope this helps!
