What Android Phone?

I use a Nokia N900 just now and it's good. Kinda like having a pc in your pocket ;)

The multitasking and speed of everything is excellent but it lacks decent apps and Nokia are slow to develop and support the phone software. The actual phone interface is awkward too.

So what Android phone is the best? Money is not an issue. My main uses are browsing, email and I'm never off the phone for work. Flash is essential for some of the web site logins I use.

I am totally unfamiliar with Android and I will never buy Apple lol

I would prefer a hardware keyboard but it's not essential.

It can be a current model or something up coming.

Any help appreciated :)

Thanks

Where are you? Different phones are available in different markets. In the US, it's difficult or impossible to move any given phone from one carrier to another, so you have to decide on a phone and a carrier at the same time.

Based on your criteria, any of the current or upcoming high end Android phones would be a good fit for you. Nexus 1, Incredible, Droid, EVO, or Galaxy S. I think the Droid is the best you can get with a physical keyboard but a lot of people don't like the keyboard, and there are a lot of good soft keyboards for Android. And since basically all Android phones have capacitive screens instead of resistive ones, they should be better for finger typing than your Nokia.

Thanks Mama ;)

I'm in the UK so really just about any phone can be unlocked or just bought sim free.

I see what you mean about the keyboard and the touch screen so i should look at all the top level Androids. What do you think is the best?

Actually since starting the thread I've been browsing the android phones and WOW! So many lol! This is gonna be a hard choice I think...

In the UK, with a hardware keyboard that would be the Motorola Milestone or the LG InTouch Max.

Personally I would get the HTC Desire if I was buying now.

Flash is coming on the next few coming weeks with the next iteration of the os. The Nexus One will be the first to get it

Wow just reread that and it was bad lol. Sorry. Flash will be coming in the next iteration of the Android os which should be releasing sometime soon (within the next few weeks) and the Nexus One will be the first phone to get it.

Shame they won't release the Evo 4g in the UK. Of course the 4g part is pointless here but the specs are niiiiiice. What do you think is the closest phone to that?

Samsung Galaxy S is the closest one I can think of. Actually has better specs than the Evo (supposed to have a faster processor, 16GB internal memory, 4" Super AMOLED display which supposedly reacts better to sunlight) and will be releasing to Expansys UK June 1st for

Reportedly, there will be a Samsung Galaxy S Pro which will be the same phone with a QWERTY. No clue on an ETA

yeh... it's looking more and more like i should get the Galaxy S although I take it that it won't have full flash?

So what's the nexus like?

Does Android have a BBC iplayer app and can it stream live video feeds from normal (not adapted for mobiles) web sites?
