What are you currently reading?

I think it is amazing what people can write when no restrictions are placed on them my friend sent me a novel she has been writing currently unmanned but for 16 dam she can write

And i thought Patrick Rothfuss was killing me, lol
Oh yeah. I read his first book. The name escapes me but it was good so I started searching for the sequel...oh dear. How can you disappear after 1 book lol? It's like he was surprised by it's success and hadn't planned the rest of the series.

I can not tell a lie. Just purchased a kindle and bought a couple of books. But I did grab a free copy of the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes lol. Though I read this many years ago... I'm half way through it again.

Is it as good as the first? I'll probably pick it up tomorrow.

edit: just downloaded the ebook. Looking forward to reading it.

A friend suggested I read the Hunger Games trilogy, & I'm SO GLAD she did! I've read the first two books & will get the 3rd from her on Wednesday. I can't wait! Also, I hear they're making a movie based on the books & I'm so pumped for that.

After I said I wasn't going to keep up with juggling more than 1 series, I just started Raymond E. Feist's "Kingdom Beseiged".
I just can't help myself

I'm reading some old sci-fi by Robert Heinlein. Who are the hot sci-fi authors today?

Some of my favorite current sci-fi authors:
Peter F. Hamilton
Iain M. Banks
Richard K. Morgan
Neal Stephenson
Dan Simmons (He writes in several different genres but his Hyperion series is excellent sci-fi)
Ian McDonald

Also I haven't read any of his books yet but John Scalzi is a current sci-fi author who has been compared to Heinlein.

I'm reading a book called "Little Fuzzy" by H. Beam Piper right now. I really enjoy his books. Not technical or hard sci-fi, but fun to read. You can tell he wrot eback in the 50's because every other page has someone lighting a cigarette, LOL!
