Finished reading REAMDE. Pretty good book, engrossing, somewhat reminiscent of Stephen King in that one ends up following several different groups of characters (and a solid dose of flashbacks), but at least in this case, there is a pretty solid timeline. The end is somewhat predictable-- the only guessing game is who gets to kill the main bad guy-- but overall, I enjoyed it.

Brian Green, The Elegant Universe

Also the follow up, Fabric of the Cosmos.

Excellent reads if you can follow them. Took a few read throughs to get it for me. :)

American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

Interestingly, I keep running into tidbits that tie into this book-- an article in a magazine that refers to a bat-house built in the Florida keys (mentioned in this book), an interview on the radio where a man quotes himself from one off his books and the same quote is in this book, an item on a list of "best insults found in literature" which, coincidentally, listed three items from the book I read prior to this one.

Now on Shards of Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold.

Previous to that, I read Wil Wheaton's Just a Geek, which was pretty darn interesting, and gave me an insight into the working actor's trials and tribulations.

He's got a couple.

Just finished reading Boneshaker, a so-called steampunk novel involving zombies in 19th Century Seattle. Not bad, but not something I normally go out and seek-- it was part of a Humble Bundle I bought, and I am short on reading material at the moment.

Finished the Hunger Games trilogy.

I saw the main jist of the ending about half way through the last book. Was ok, i found it very hard to have any sympathy for Katniss though, even with all that happened to her.

I'm now about to get fired in to Manhattan in Reverse by Peter Hamilton.

Also picked up some beginners guides to Linux books which I'll be reading along side.

I am in the middle of reading the fourth book of the 5 book series called FableHaven.
Easy and fun reads about a family of caretakers that oversee an enchanted preserve full of all manner of magical beings, and all of the mishaps they can get into along the way.:)
Good summer reads.

Sounds interesting, who's the author?

The reviews for Adobe Air are of the same kind. :-)

Hidden Order by Brad Thor - it is a good read, lots of action - politics (its about the Fed Reserve), murder, consipiracy..

Just finished reading Joyland by Stephen King. It's the second book he has had published on the Hard Case Crime imprint. It's a good, quick read, mostly character based, which I like. The whole murder mystery part was a bit tacked on, but hey, he's Stephen King, it's not like Hard Case Crime is going to reject his manuscript lol.

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. A classic, but I have never read it, and now I am.

I recently read Little Brother by Cory Doctorow, which impressed me a lot-- if you want to know how much surveillance the government already has on you (or at least the potential to track you with) and a few tips on how to trip them up a little, then this book is for you.

It was suspenseful and paranoia-inducing, and I had to put it down a few times because it hit too close to home for me, but then I had to pick it back up to see how things progressed.
