Done with The Stars My Destination... now I have to dig up something else for the next few days.

I think maybe Wakulla Springs by Andy Duncan and Ellen Klage, then perhaps The Lady Astronaut from Mars after that...

I really should grab some paper books for my trip back to the campsite.

NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. (Stephen King's son)
It's pretty good so far.

I recommend this to any Stephen King fans. His style is very similar to his dad's. I've also read Heart Shaped Box and some of his Locke and Key graphic novels, and liked them as well.

I'm completely cracked out on Jack Reacher. I just finished book 5. Averaging close to 2 days per book. Taking a short break before I start book 6,if I can stop that is ;)

Donnerjack is done, and I just finished Wakulla Springs.

There is a non-fic I am halfway through: How to Land (and Keep) a Literary Agent by Noah Lukeman. I am also stalled stalled on another non-fic: PHP, MySQL, JavaScript & CSS (just a little light reading). I am at JavaScript right now, but I really should finish the book and begin applying some of that knowledge toward a database for work...

Currently reading Glitz by the late Elmore Leonard. Fun book, maybe not his best, but quite entertaining if you like the noir style.

Because the new semester just started and after one class, I felt the big need to brush up, lol.

Finished How to Land (and Keep) a Literary Agent by Noah Lukeman.

This is a very good intro into the business of writing and getting published, in my opinion.

That is something I would like to do, eventually, though I have a lot of work ahead of me before i can even use the information I got from this book.

I have also recently read a few short stories from Tor: The Lady Astronaut of Mars, and The Ink readers of Doi Saket; and I need to find something new to read...

I also need to get some actual writing done. I have been wasting time doing nothing when I could be furthering my eventual third career.

I never know what to write about. It means I know nothing of real value

I don't know about that... you are human (shocking, I know); you suffer as much as the rest of us that condition we all share.

Write about anything, nothing... short stories, scenes, tableau, vignettes. Just write. Go back a couple days later and fix it. Write some more.

A good place to start is to try writing the kind of things you like to read.

This. What I consider my best writing is something I really enjoy reading. The piece I am working on right now is pretty good; unfortunately, the author is taking way too long to finish it.

Finished one called The Burning Girls; I don't know if it counts as a longish short story or a novella...

I'm going through some of the Hugo nominees.

I think I will start Billy Wong's Iron Bloom next.

Finding Amelia.. I'm about 3/4 finished but I haven't picked it up in awhile.. Probably should finish it soon! I should have bright it with me while I sit here waiting for various companies to give me estimates on some work I need done at my house I'm selling.. No tv no internet I'm bored:) next time I bring a 6 pack and a book!!!
:) kidding about the 6 pack.. Maybe

That's supposed to be a good book.

Done with Iron Bloom. Teeny bit of romance, but all hetero. ;p

Dngrswife wants me to read Lost Boys, but the paperback is at home and I am not there right now...

Looks like it will be Deeper than the Darkness by Greg Benford.

Reading Book #2 of the Marty Singer series by Matthew Iden. Got the 3 book bundle for $.99. If you haven't signed up for BookBub yet, it is worth checking out.

Deeper than Darkness was a decent book, but poorly scanned...

After that I read The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wicker. The ebook is still $1.99 at Amazon.

I enjoyed it immensely, the characters are compelling, and I didn't want to put it down.

Next is Playing for Keeps by Mur Lafferty...

*** Edit: well, that was a very short, but entertaining read... took me all of about eight hours.

Now I have to find something else to occupy my mind. :/
