What are you listening to?

Crows in particular seem vocal, and highly organized; And obviously, known to be very smart.

Call and response over long distances, perched on the highest available points.

Coordinated, collective, cooperation........Especially when a hawk comes through; One, a hawk just ignores; But 100 crows make a definite statement, gets his attention, puts the fear of Bird in him!

They fascinate me, year after year.

The hummingbirds fascinate as well, but their territoriality and behavior just comes off as truly vicious and nasty toward one another......deceptive, for such cute, pretty little things; Perhaps a life lesson in there?:p;)

Beck - Lost Cause.

There is a bottle brush tree in the front yard, home to what appears to be dozens of them (Hummingbirds); The tree is significantly fouling the utility lines. PG+E is scheduled to be here in a few days. That morning will be set to the sound of chainsaws.

And a bunch of my friends will be homeless in a matter of minutes.:(
We're many years into a serious drought situation here......On those rare occasions when there is irrigation going on.....They frolic with wild abandon.:)

Now it's the sound of Dad's morning belch and nose blow.:D

Next, NPR (broadcast, over the air) news .

Wait. They're way up in the air? I've only seen them at waist height.

Boston Utilities have long since turned my street into a sunlit wasteland/paradise. One tree left in someone's yard.

The Bohannon Walk - Bohannon

I'll check my call, be sure I'm describing the right tree.

Digging the Boston map. Chewing on it for the moment........
And about to search Modern Lovers / Jonathan Richman (sp?), listen to the obvious choice!:D

Start Me Up - Rolling Stones

Sure, I wanted to spend a half a century as nothing less than sex personified;........But reality got in the way.:D

("I can't compete......with the riders in the other heat.......")

25+ years ago, I realized it was far more realistic to (aspire to ) be Charlie.........Smiling and happy, keeping the beat in the background; Essential to the process, but somehow amused by, contemptuous of, and above it all; As the delightful circus swirled 'round.;)
I don't know who shot the raw footage for this one, but at least one camera operator new where the real action was.:D

EDIT: I always wondered if someone chose Mick's shirt on purpose, or if the interference patterns (most notable at 1:00 to 1:15) were just a happy accident; I fondly remember them from childhood, they are definitely not the result of file conversion or rendering on your device, rather the original video capture.

A "Wrangler" Jeans commercial on TV.

I assume they couldn't get the rights to the original, so I'm (momentarily) stuck with what sounds like a weak version of "Up Around The Bend".

Where the rhythm section "chunks along" in the original,......The commercial version just kind of limps along; Where Fogerty had a delightful, "undisciplined gravel" quality to his voice....The singer in the commercial version just kind of phones it in. Sigh.

Edit: Only later thought about the irony of the above......Working from distant memory here, but wasn't Fogerty involved in long and bitter legal proceedings against his former label and band mates, around the time of "Centerfield"? Central to the case was (who owns) "The CCR sound"; I seem to recall the expression "He sounds too much like himself" being thrown around during the courtroom proceedings......Surely someone owes us some money for that.
