What browser do I have?

Original Droid (A855) running 2.2.3 OS.
bough it used.

it came with a browser but for the life of me i cant find what it is called, nor the version #.

any help?

it is probably just the stock browser. there is no name for it. you can install other browsers as well from the play store. i like dolphin or chrome(might not work on older phones though). boat is also pretty good as well.
 
Yeah Chrome only works on 4.0+ versions of Android. Dolphin's decent, but I've mostly used Opera Mini. Nice, lightweight, small app size (for those of us with limited storage space).
 
If you look in the Application Manager it will probably be listed as Internet if it is the stock browser. You'll really have to post a screen shot to get anything more than guesses from anyone 314.

+1 to this. Dolphin Browser is amazing!
 
Remember though that you don't have to download from the google play store. Download straight from a web site or install the Amazon store. Amazon app store works well, I installed it on my son's and set him up an amazon account then cancelled the account setup at the last step where it asked for a credit card but it still created an account. So when I want to reward him I can send him an Amazon e-gift card and he redeems it and buys a games he wants.

The stock android browser is webkit based FWIW.
