Root What can and can't I update while rooted?

Hey guys, pretty simple question but I have kind of dropped off the forums lately as I started a new job and have been busy. Anyway, I rooted with unrEVOked awhile back to back up my phone for a replacement. I rooted the replacement and turned off all updates so as not to conflict. Here is my phone info:

baseband: 2.15.00.07.28
Kernel 2.6.32.15
build: 3.26.651.6
software: 3.26.651.6
PRI: 1.77_003
PRL:60671

I noticed that I am at least an update behind everyone on a few of these. I also haven't updated my voicemail yet.

Basically my question is what can I update while rooted with unrEVOked and what can't I (and risk losing root, ect)?

Firmware?
Profile?
PRL?
HTC Software?

Thanks!

Typically Don't update HTC software... firmware is an unknown as there haven't really been any updates there since release.

the others are fine

right now you could technically do the HTC update to 3.70 and just reroot since unrevoked is caught up with OTA updates at the moment

I dont know unrEVOked at all, but if it purely roots your device then there isnt anything you shouldnt be able to update
Also if its anything like my galaxy S, installing new firmware always removes the rooting

Don't do an HTC update while rooted. Either do all the updates now, then root, or root now, then flash the latest radios and a ROM based on 3.70. Keep in mind that if you accept all the OTA updates up to 2.10, you will have a hard time if you ever want the eng bootloader.

what do you guys mean when u say "flash" noob here.

flash means installing a zip file from Recovery which would be your all black screen with the writing where you use the volume rockers to navigate up/down and the power button as your "enter" key
