What changes do YOU see with Froyo 2.2?

The icon "3G" is a different type of text. Thats all I've noticed. The text is more round now.

Lol, yeah I noticed that too.

youtube still sucks, just a little less. This is the only feature that is actually worse than my touch diamond I got rid of.

My phone is more responsive overall. I am looking forward to trying out the camera and video recorder at dusk to see if it is any better. My friends iphone blew evo out the water at an outdoor concert. I had to tell him phone phone was messed up to avoid the embarrassment. lol

Dont know if its been mentioned but if you have a contact linked to facebook, it scrolls their current update status across the bottom of their pic while you are on a call with them.

My battery life is much better, although it was never bad to begin with. I usually went 8am-6pm unplugged and ended up around 50% or so. Today I've been unplugged since 8am and I'm still at 80%.

Asked in another thread, however, i'm having trouble understanding the screen rotation everyone is talking about. Maybe i'm doing something wrong or have the settings wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone notice a volume change when playing music or videos? One thing I hated is that the media volume level was not as loud as my ipod touch when playing videos. Seems to be a little better now but that may be just in my head.

I can't believe how fast the phone is now.

Out the box the phone benchmarked 1000-1009 on SetCPU. Overclocked to 1152MHz it was benchmarking around 860. Now with Froyo and 1152MHz overclock it's benchmarking around 380.

Also getting a 54fps avg w/ netarchy's 2.2 rooted ROM and 3.7.6 froyo kernel.

This is the same if you have a contact linked on twitter. Their recent tweet scrolls on the bottom when you are on a call.

What trouble are you having understanding it? It still doesn't work with the home screens, but works when texting, looking at webpages, etc.

A few changes: Now (when using Handcent) in the notification bar, it will say how many messages you have instead of just telling you that you have a pending message. (That probably old, I don't know)

When your contact doens't have a picture, the little Android guy is different looking.

Hi,

For those who haven't noticed yet: the screen timeout and lock timeout can be set separately in Froyo.

Settings > Display > Screen timeout
Security > Lock phone after

This is a small change, but it was a huge annoyance!

where is the security>lock phone after
located? It is not in settings>security on my phone.

Has anyone noticed that the headphone out volume is a little lower (thankfully). For example, when I used the FM radio with my particular headphones, the first notch in volume would be a little low, but the next would be way too high. Now I can go to around 1/3rd volume and have it be just right.

Similarly, MP3s played back on the Evo now require a slightly higher volume setting (which again is fine by me).

I realized today that there is no longer a way to toggle the lock screen! You now have to dig through the settings menu down to the lock options to toggle. And there doesn't appear to be any 3rd party apps on the market that can do it either!

Crap! I did this today to try it out, used the PIN and to lock after 15 minutes. Now I can't undo it. Is there a way to turn it off and not use the lock phone feature?

I still don't understand the Up time/Awake time bug.

I noticed my phone is doing it, even though I charged halway through the day when it was awake. (Sorry if this has been answered, but...) How do you fix this?

When talking on the phone, and you receive a text, you hear a notification.

Didn't see it mentioned previously, if it was sorry.

Dunno if it was noticed, but downloading/updating apps is WORLDS better now. NO hangups while installing!
