What colour Hero?

I just got a black unlocked SIM free handset in the UK from www.simplyelectronics.net

A couple of others in the office here also just bought - in white (unlocked) and graphite (Orange). The white is def the lady version (!!) and I like both the graphite and black.

Seriously though. Who buys anything except leather goods in brown?

Although they call it black on the site, that is the Brown version. I think this is where the confusion is comming in.

You will see your phone has a bronze tint to it, where as the black version (the T-Mobile version) is jet black, no gray or brown in it at all.

I have it on the desk in front of me - jet black, not brown. Just like the T-Mobile one, but without the T-Mobile logo. Nothing like the brown one.

It appears to be a Euro (non-UK) model as it came with a 2-pin Euro plug.

I got the white one. I got it fairly early on and here in Germany I could only find the white version... I do like it but I don't like the white connotation, looks a little like I might be an iSheep. Would have preferred a black or graphite one but I will survive

do you know if there's a Graphite casing without the logo?

Yep, if you get it directly from HTC. Same with the black phone and casing (although these are more widely avaliable via online retailers)

I have the white one, I'd have to disagree with the white Hero being stereotyped in to the whole fruit thing, but at least it's not glossy, only then would I consider it a fruit-ish endeavor.
