Root What developers are going to HTC Evo V 4g ?

Im really interested in the HTC EVO V 4g but i want to know what developers are going to be moving over or at least developing Roms for it? Anyone Know ? :)

I develop as a hobby even if I do get the phone if the community is asking for too much / pressures the Devs to develop I'll take a step back like I did with the Optimus Slider community (definitely not my job) I do however like the Triumph community :) ......... with the exception of a few
 
i just posted here to see which triumph developers are switching since there is alot of development in the triumph forum.

I know for a fact that Leslie is getting it. She has been on the bandwagon for it ever since it was released as a rumored device, and said she is going to get it before they hit stores.
I will get it as soon as I get the money, although I've told few people that if the One V comes out before I get the Evo V, I will most likely get that. I just have a thing for Sense 4 :)
I *think* that JerryScript has gotten the Elite, so if so, that should be a no for him
I really want to see mantera's opinion on this. I really like his dev work.
As for the other OV devs: mrg666 and BobZhome aren't really forum active, so if they show up it will be with a ROM, not a hello. I'll have to ask tvall on his opinion but I'm sure he will stay with the OV for a while.

Sorry, I seem to know quite a bit about the OV devs and not much here. I've just been through them so much I know their opinions better.

I think this will be the phone that the best devs from all of the Virgin communities will come together, which will make this the best dev phone that Virgin has to offer (Might as well put that on the website ;) )

Oh and also for the people wondering, I think that the primary forum for the Evo V will be here. Just throwing out suggestions.
 
I don't really plan on shelling out another $300 for another phone. Maybe if my phone croaks at some point, I might exchange it for this at bb but until then, no plans on leaving.

since the phone comes with ics im in no rush. but i know that a sense 4 rom will come out soon the evo 3d already has sense 4.0 roms actually ! they got ics from the evo v leak and they managed to get sense 4.0 working on it. when i contacted a developer who codes for the evo 3d he said roms are exactly the same we just have to figure out how to change sprints data handling to vm's data handling as they are quite different. other than that we should be good.

joelZ got the leak booting on our sprint 3D's by changing the ramdisk in the kernel..thats it, everything else worked perfectly no other/extra work needed at all. so it should really be absolutely no problem porting the roms to this phone
 
A little info on the phone.....VM is doing the same thing with this phone as they did with the Triumph.They have people that have posted how great the phone is BEFORE it was even released.I don't see how you can use a phone that's not available yet even thru Virgin Mobile (at the time of the posts on their site).One person blasted the fact people said they have it when he pre-ordered it and was told it won't be out til June 1st thru VM and all the posts were from May.If that guys post gets taken down then you know VM is stacking the deck and can't be trusted.

I personally trust the devs here more than VM.Gannon brandon leisleann mantra and so many others have done SO much more for our phones than VM has or ever will.If you guys go on to Evo V that's great but just don't forget your loyal base that you are helping out so much right now.
 
I was thinking about going HTC but don't wanna end up with buyer's remorse again, but it's either the new VM HTC or I'm going Galaxy Nexus. But the data throttling thing VM is doing now sucks badly I get throttled every month & hate it, unlimited my ass.
 
Also does anybody know if it has an unlocked bootloader ? I've had my fair share of dealing with locked bootloader's with Motorola, Droid Bionic, Droid Rarz, Droid 3, Droid X, & Droid X2. Locked bootloaders suck

All honesty, VM needs better/more developers. I don't think they've ever released an update for a phone besides a radio update for the OV. It's ridiculous. They worry about their upcoming phones way more than worrying about fixing the problems in their current phones, and updating it to a newer software version.

No idea of the bootloader, but HTC is doing a good job with keeping to their word of unlocking the bootloaders. I guess because everybody was mad about it. HTCdev - Unlock Bootloader
 
Well it would be nice if it is, I mean there are ways to work around a lock bootloader but you be carefull & know what your doing or it can get a little scary, lol. I've only ever lost one phone & when I first started messing with android, Samsung & Odin lol.
