Root What did I do?

Gandalv

Newbie
So I got Clockwork Mod installed and working with no issues. Somehow during the process of the installation of tickerguys CM7 install, I have a boot error that I'm encountering. When restarting my phone this is what I get on every boot after the splash screen, I have to remove the battery to get past it...

...I've tried restoring from my initial Nandroid backup with the same results. I've formatted /system /data & /cache and even did Dalvik as well. All with the same results, the screen above.

Suggestions? Thoughts? Thanks for looking.

Could be SDcard corruption or download corruption. Try a different more reliable download of the ROM, and transfer it to the sdcard or different card using a different method.

Did it power off during installation?

Hey Gandalv,

I moved your thread to the All Things Root section, as they will probably have a better idea there.

I would recommend following this guide to get your phone back to stock. Make sure to read the whole thread as there are 2 different versions of the download depending on which hardware version you have.

Then make sure your battery is fully charged again before trying to flash anything. Like Whyzor said, try a different card if you have one available, and make sure you use the download links from Tickerguy's post (here).
There are some easy to follow steps in this post:

Hope that helps.

Did you try plugging it in? It DOES say battery low............
Your phone won't charge even if plugged in while flashing a ROM. Although you could charge the battery with the phone off. Unless something messed all that up when the OP got this issue.

I assume the low charge is because the OP had tried to flash and mess with things multiple times. If my assumption is wrong, always make sure you have a full (or close to full) charge before flashing a ROM, or you can have issues when it dies halfway through the flashing process.

@agentc13 - I tired there yesterday and not a single response. This has garned five in 20 minutes or so. Thank you for the suggestions, I'll give them a try.

@idbl_fanatic - I did plug the battery in, still the same result though now the low battery message is gone.

@marc12858 - Yes, it did power off during the install. I reinstalled and factory wipe with same result.

@whyzor - I will try reformating the sdcard, thanks for the suggestion

That is the issue then, I believe. Follow the mobile partition link I suggested earlier, as you might have some other issues from the phone powering off that won't let things happen correctly.

Also, the reason you might not have been helped from the first post is because it was in that huge ROM thread, and people probably missed it in there (I did :() as many people posted after you did. Creating your own thread for help was a good idea.

AgentC13 please PM you Paypal email address I'd like to send you something for helping me out. I'm up and running again thanks to you.

If you're still in the spirit of giving, I would suggest donating to isaacj87, since he's pretty much the active dev that plants the seed for CM7, MIUI, and maybe even ICS soon.

Is that the current username? A couple of posts mention that he may no longer be active in the community. Do you have a link to a current post?
