What Do Idiots Call Your Evo?

I've gotten, "Oh is that the new iPhone?" or "Ooh wow the HD2 huh?".....Maybe if Sprint were a little better about its tv marketing, we wouldn't have to field these dumb comments...
 
All phones are either old flip phones, an iphone or that "droid" phone. There is nothing else to idiots.
 
Everyone thinks it's an Iphone...I swear..um like no Stranger meet the HTC Evo..it runs Google Android. I make sure I stress the OS.

Not sure what shows you folks are watching, but I see commercials all the time for the EVO on TNT and FX watching shows like Leverage and Rescue Me. I also see ads all over the Interwebz.

It wasn't said that they didn't have adverts at all, but that the ones they are running are very ineffective. The Sprint ads look just like every other lame sprint commercial.

I want to see a commercial where the Evo user is letting his iphone buddies wireless teather because they have no coverage.

As far as ads on the interwebs, IDK since I have Firefox set up to never show any ads ever.

How are they supposed to know if you don't tell them? They're not idiots - they're curious, they're uninformed and they're using iconic language that so far to them translates to "better" or "quality product."

How 'bout humbly thanking them for asking, say, yeah, kinda like that, then show a nice app, then name drop?

That - or you can just continue to huff that they're idiots.

They just say it's huge, but love it.

Apple really does know how to market though. I just saw the commercial the other day for the chat program they use, facetime or whatever it's called LOL, and it really draws you in. Wish sprint would do that.
 
My mom referred to it as "your 4g". My boss (iPhone user) referred to it as "your HTC".

I call it my Godphone. :D
 
Everyone goes " Is that a droid?!" and im like..eh,no. Its the Evo, basically its the droid. But i get offended about my technology, so they know im serious when i tell them about it XD

I'm not sure I draw the same correlation between one's knowledge of cell-phones and his/her level of intelligence that you do.

If your question is what sort of monikers get assigned to my phone by people who don't know makes/models, I suppose the most frequent is "that 4g phone".
 
I have been amazed at the awareness of the Evo phone. I have been questioned several times "hey is that the new evo?" or "is that the new sprint phone?" etc...not once has someone mis-identified it or asked "what is that?"
