what do you use your HDMI cable for (EVO)?

So how do u connect the cable mine don't work what am I doing wrong

I see on the side that it says that you are a "Droid" user. I am assuming that either you are new to Android and assume that your Evo is a "Droid" or you really have a Droid from Verizon.

If you are from Verizon with their Droid, I am unsure of how you would connect.

For Evo, you have a port at the bottom of your phone right next to the USB/charging port. You need to buy a HDMI cable that is compatible with your phone from somewhere such as Sprint, Amazon, Ebay, etc. and connect it to your phone and the other end to your HDTV in the HDMI input. Once done, you will need to open YouTube/Videos/Pictures/Gallery/ or etc. and pull up a video or slideshow.

If you were like me and got a cheapo from Amazon for like $2, you may need to jiggle the cable around for it to work :p Once done, you should be able to put videos/pictures to your HDTV!

I use mine to block all the dust from getting to the other stack of mostly useless cables I have. When I get my Evo 3D with full HDMI out I may finally have a use however ;)

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one not using the HDMI feature... :p

I just found out about this mirroring app a few days ago, I think it's pretty cool! It's nice to have a lot of widgets updating info like weather, email, latitude, etc. on a large screen.

What I really found useful was games that require you to use the motion features of the phone for controlling things such as racing games. I played Need for Speed: Shift and it was awesome! I just hold the phone like a controller in front of the TV and steer it, the game is really fun that way and the graphics aren't bad.
