Help What does clearing the app cache do?

So I use App2Sd free and whenever I open it, it tells me I have 17mb of app cache and if I want to clear. What happens if i do this? Btw I have an HTC EVO 2.2 not rooted

You dont need to use apps2sd if you have android 2.2.

? not necessarily a need , but it does make moving apps that are capable of being moved to the sd card much easier by automatically putting them in a list and then taking you directly to the application settings for the app you wish to move when you press on that app within the list.

as for the cache question..I have no earthly idea what the apps store in cache but assume it's icons images etc. this clear cache is a new feature that was added to apps2sd in the latest update

More than likely, app cache is just what Mr. Ed guessed - anything that the app will need quickly. Typically, cache is used to help things load faster. Wiping it won't harm anything. Just don't wipe app data, accidentally.
