What does this mean WWE_release_signed_NoDriver

Hi,

I recieved my HTC hero about 1 month ago as a present and i'm loving it, and i can't wait to get the android update from 1.5 to 2.1.

When those updates finally arrive, how will i know which region to download from? Should i choose the ones with the WWE_release_signed_NoDriver tag? and what is meant with the released_signed?

My current build is 2.73.405.5.
and it's an unlocked version ( figured this out by using 3 different sim cards )

Hi Serial,

Previous updates have checked device serial numbers and refused to install on incorrect ones. If, as HTC have stated, the 2.1 updates are delivered OTA then presumably a similar check will be done prior to the update being pushed to the handset.

To answer your other question, "WWE" stands for World Wide English, and "release_signed" simply means that the update is signed by HTC to allow installation by the OS and intended for public release.
