No idea... but I don't think the Razr is supposed to win any battery championships either (and you're stuck with that battery if you don't like it!).

exactly when he said that people have returned the rezound for the razr for the battery life i was like the people arent smart enough with the rezound to get another battery?? i mean come on they go to a phone with a removeable battery to a phone u cant even take the back off of crazy. thats why i didnt go towards the razr honestly if u look at the threads on here and the razr all the razr is is problem questions

They recommended and raved about the iphone 4S (which I'm exchanging for a Rezound) to me, and when I told them I prefer Android THEN he recommended the Razr. Weird.

BTW, Best Buy didn't have a single case for the Rezound either. I hope they aren't going to blow right over this phone and not support it for long.

well im glad i know that im not the only one they praise the razr to, yeah i had a iphone4 returned it and got the incredible 2 love this phone but i want a bigger and better screen. haha but yeah go look at amazon thats where i get my cases for cheap or check ebay :)

Rezound battery life is pretty respectable. If you turn the performance mode to "normal" it's better, and still performs great. I'm not sure why they have it defaulting to "performance" frankly. Seems like that's kind of setting people up for battery disappointment. (Then again, they *were* pushing the extended battery... Coincidence?) Anyway, if you turn off 4G it's even better, but I like me some 4G. Even with that, it gets through the day with moderate use.

I have a hunch if they are pushing the RAZR on you, they have some sales target to meet. At my local VZW store they're not just talking more about the rezound- Employees who have been *given* RAZR's are buying Rezounds for themselves. They're all up on it- they all seem to either be Rezound fans, or at best, kind of neutral about keeping their RAZR's. I'm not hearing anyone psyched on the RAZR like people are for the Rezound.

lol i push the rezound on people at my store because it's the better phone, plain and simple. they're pushing the razr bc of "droid" branding, and most likely overstock. we're overstocked on razrs but i don't care, i still push the better phone.

yeah i dont know its really annoying when i tell them that i want to get the rezound and they basically act like i dont even have an opinon on what phone i am getting lol i dont know i think the razr is just way to big and i feel like it might be to thin i have the incredible now and love it but just want something new. so i saw the rezound and basically looks like a bigger verison of my phone

It's all about the MONEY!

Sell a Razor and get $25
Sell a Rezound and get $10

I'm not saying these are the commission rates but you get the point. The Razor or a turd. They had a chance to put out a remarkable device. Moto Failed. They have failed with every device released other that the OG Droid and Droid X.

The Rezound is a really good phone. Give it to anyone for a couple days and they love it.

I'm the go-to-guy for tech at work and with my family. I recommend the Rezound on Verizon (GNex soon). Galaxy S2 or Nexus on other carriers. Most of the other Android phones on the market are average or below average. They may have a couple good features but overall they get low marks.

I wasn't sold on either rezound or razr when I went to the vz store. The guy helping me seemed indifferent between the two. I didn't feel any pressure at all. I have yet to see a rezound commercial but seen plenty of razr commercials so I don't doubt they are pushing the razr more aggressively. The non removable battery was the major deciding factor for me. I bet they expected the razr to sell like the dx and have an overstock because anyone familiar with android will appreciate removable batteries.

I have yet to charge my phone during the day... I think the battery excuse is inaccurate. I had and returned the Thunderbolt due to the battery life (it was awful), so they may be referring to their past. Keep in mind, Motorola is now owned by Google. I wouldn't be surprised if there is more incentives for retailers to sell more Motorola phones..

My personal take on all this is that Verizon got stuck with the iphone 4s and the razr. Neither is a good phone and they are pushing these to dump the stock. Look at the Verizon web site . The "featured" phones are these two, why", because they need to get rid of them. My local store rep is a friend and he told me that Verizon in this area was stunned that the iphone 4s and the razr were not selling any where near their expectations.

He and another sales rep there both just upgraded this past week to guess what - the rezound.

When I tried to get a different cover for my phone I was told that they can't keep rezound stuff in stock. Partly because they did not order enough.

This phone is going to be a benchmark, I really do believe.

My V store salesperson (last week Thurs) didn't push us to the Moto Razr either. But she pushed me away from the Sammy Stratosphere though... said she's got a couple of returns recently. For a moment I was thinking of buying one Razr and one Rezound (different phones) just for the fun of it, and after some thinking went with 2 Rezound. After that, they promptly made me buy a 3rd phone (they paid a lot to break the contract on my 3rd phone... after like 16 years with AT&T!). The Verizon company and the Rezound is/are just fantabulous.

Yea, my wife is looking for a slider too and the sales people said that the Stratosphere was iffy. She is also put-off by the uncertainty of the Droid 4 and she loves my rezound. I think htc will be getting another convert and we'll be a two rezound family.

That doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I just recommended that to my brother. He didn't have much money to spend, and he needs a physical keyboard device (isn't comfortable with on-screen keyboards and has a deaf fiance so texting ease is a must). It was on sale most everywhere around Black Friday for free, so the price was right for him.

The other reason I recommended the Strat. was the double your data promo if you get a 4G smartphone. On our share plan we snagged a promo last fall which basically gives a $20 discount per line on data. We have 5 lines, so to have data for all 5 lines costs us $50. Three of the lines had smartphones before the tiered data went into effect. This brother's was not one of them, so if he would've went to a 3G smartphone, he would've gotten 2GB of data. But with the double your data promo, he got 4GB.

I'll cross my fingers & hope he doesn't get any major issues. Also since this is his 1st smartphone he might not notice issues as much.:D

How can you say neither are good phones? From everything I've read both are outstanding. All devices have flaws but all the top tier phones are pretty amazing. Sorry but that's the fanboi attitude most Apple guys take. Different strokes for different folks. I have recommended iPhones to people I think would like them for ease of use and stability.

I think Verizon is heavily invested with the Razr. Crazy promotions, commercials everywhere, and soon as you walk through a Verizon door they push you to the Razr. Verizon is trying to recoup on money put into the Razr and iphone4s.

To me the invested in the wrong phone. Just the specs alone of the ReZound should've made them think twice about investing in the razr. I guess if you aren't into technology much the Razr would be a great phone, but we all no better than that.

vzwuser76, your brother should be fine, especially if the Stratosphere is his first smartphone. From what the sales people were saying its that they had a lot of returns due to breaking as opposed to malfunction. I liked the way the phone looked and felt but my wife has had problems with her Droid so she is once bitten so to speak.

Actually, nynvolt I'm not a fan boy, this is just a good phone. I just like good technology as opposed to marketing hype and herd mentality. In fact I did have an iphone as do both my daughters but I did not like the dependability nor the old tech of the 4s. I also like Samaung stuff in general. Its the Verizon sales reps who are cautioning against it.

I agree with you.

We as a family now have the following phones:
Rezoundsx2
Razrsx1
Iphone 4sx2
Plus a few other phones.

All three phones have their strengths. Build quality is better on the 4s and Razr. I prefer the Rezound though. I like the way it plays my Media plus I love the extended battery, and I honestly love sense even though it's pretty heavy.

I like the buttery smoothness I get from IOS via the 4s. I have yet to play with an android device that has that smooth of an interface. Other than that I find the IOS to be fairly dull after so many years of staying pretty much the same. I also can't go back to 3g.

If I had to pick out of the RAZR and the Rezound it'll be the Rezound just because of beats audio. Also I don't like the shape of the RAZR.

i agree the razr was way to wide for me the rezound was perfect i have small hands and i feel like i would drop the razr all the time but i do like the thiness of the razr thats why i looked at it in the first place but the non removeable battery scared me.

Earlier this evening I saw the Verizon-Rezound at the local Fry's for $160 (after $500 instant rebate, 2 year contract). hmmm..... i'll have to be looking for my receipt to see if the Verizon store will price match the 2 we bought last week. Oh well... :|
