Root What is the performance cost of bloatware?

There's a lot of posting going on about removing bloatware, but, other than un-cluttering the apps drawer, what are the benefits over just leaving them in place and not invoking them?

I remove it because its just as easy to remove it as it is mask it and I know I will never need it.

Whats the best program or way to remove it?

I have root but Unistaller doesn't seem to work on bloatware.

So why is everyone expending all of this energy trying to remove the bloat when they can just mask it?

Beats me I guess they like the placebo effect or just like to think they are in control :D I've removed a few just so I felt powerful! LOL Others may also not use LP and can't hide them.
To each his own.

I use Tibku to uninstall or freeze system apps. You may want to just freeze them just in case. But I've found that if you freeze the the Market will update them and they will show in the app drawer again. So removing them cures that.
