@everyone Twitter does have a search function, yanno... and red gave us the tweeter's username, so....

Eh. . .too lazy. I'd rather have someone just quote the relevant tweets in a future post, if you don't mind.

Well, I guess it's looking more & more like we'll be on the edge of our seats on August 29th, when Samsung intros the SGS2s to America. All we can hope for is a non-slider version for Verizon. The Stratosphere will easily satisfy the needs of those who want a slider; while a straight SGS2 will appease those of us who are sick of our Droid sliders and want something more... streamlined.

We hope. And hope. And hope.

Well there has been plenty of time for a retraction if the stratosphere were not the slider; and more and more confirmation with stories like this: Samsung SCH-i405 QWERTY Slider for Verizon Pictured Again.

So, this forum is now about the "mid-range" slider that will be available September 8th. I still might be interested in it. I am so pathetically used to having a keyboard.

Well, that's a month old news I saw before. It basically says there there is single core 4G slider coming, but there is nothing confirming this is going to be stratosphere or SGSII is not coming to verizon.

I'm pretty certain dual core SGSII is coming to Verizon and guess CDMA version of leaked Celox is that. Samsung wouldn't be that dumb to drop only single core slider to Verizon while giving real SGSII like devices to other carriers.

CK, you may be right. This is an article in Barron's that specifically mentions the Bionic doing battle with the Samsung Stratosphere. The Bionic will NOT do battle with a mid-range slider...so maybe it is the SGS2?

MMI: Timing Of Google Bid Fortuitous, Says CL King - Tech Trader Daily - Barrons.com

This guy, C.L. King’s Lawrence Harris, says:
The Bionic will do battle with HTC’s “Vigor” smartphone, Samsung Electronics’s (SSNLF) “Stratosphere,” and LG Electronics’s (LGLGDE) “Revolution 2,” Harris writes, all LTE smartphones expected to come to Verizon as well, in advance of the holidays.

I think it's hilarious that now the industry insiders are basing their info from the forums and blogs that we pore over, and not actual leaks from Moto or Samsung employees or officers.

This Harris guy also says:

“Reportedly the Droid Bionic will also feature a 15-hour talk time. . ."

Now, I must admit that I am pretty obsessive sometimes about researching the Bionic, and combine that with really boring work and sitting at a computer all day. . . Well I Google the Bionic for info in the last hour about 12 times per day, and the ONLY place I have EVER seen the 15-hour battery duration was from Yoda. Once he said that, it was all over the internet, usually credited to him.

The problem is we have no evidence.

Is anyone else getting tired of the whole house of cards that tech evidence is based on these days? If source A says that the Stratosphere is the SGSII variant, and source B says that it's a mid-range slider, and source C says that the Celox is the SGSII variant for Verizon, and Source D says that the SGSII might not be released any time soon to Verizon because nothing like that has passed the FCC yet, you've got 4 different pieces of evidence, all with the same weight yet all contradicting each other.

No one seems to care that some of these sources are simply teenagers whiling away their summer vacation in their basement, eating Doritos and laughing at all the excitement they're causing.

If I made a "roadmap" on Excel, showing the same crap that was on every other one, but with definite, hard dates, "release date for Verizon SGSII leaked" would be all over the internet.

Argh! I need to get up and run around the block a few times.
