what keyboards are u guys using?

Started using swype but for some reason its word prediction got progressively worse. Now comfortable with Smart Keyboard except the space bar doesn't always register.

On the Gingerbread Keyboard, does it have a numpad style numbers keyboard or is like the regular keyboard where all the numbers are aranged horizontally?

8pen.....fun concept and could be really fast but requires too much time to learn, I still use it sometimes.

New gbread keyboard is amazing! I don't know if it is using the BlindType technology but this thing is godly accurate. No more swiping up to reveal, instead you just hold the period key. And TRUE multi-touch now.

For anyone curious there is a no root required simple APK install for the gingerbread keyboard floating around. Everything on it works perfectly including predictions, etc.

I keep seeing all these blog posts floating around about how to get the new keyboard with root required flashable zips, etc. I just emailed myself the APK file on my non rooted EVO and have been using the keyboard since yesterday.

For anyone wondering it is by far the best keyboard I've used. You can hold down shift now like on a real keyboard and it will caps lock letters until you release it. Same with numbers and the number key. It's really great.

Just a quick note from your friendly neighborhood mod.

We're ok with this one because that Gingerbread keyboard is part of a standard Android distribution.

Others are copyright-protected and vended - so those apk links are not ok to share.

Thanks!

I use swype when I need to type one handed. But these days I'm using smart keyboard and I really like it. This keyboard word prediction is spot on and I have a lot less Mis spelled and fewer corrections.

Wow, on the day swype beta fixed, this beauty comes out. This beauty being gingerbread keyboard. Now I'm torn again.

The only bad aspect of gingerbread keyboard that I can see is that the touch to correct feature doesn't work right. If you touch a word, then click on a suggested replacement, it puts new word in between old word.

Not really sure what you mean by this.. cuz.. its workin perfect sofar.. i put it in this morning.. and have used it a couple times.. i just wish that the calibration tool would calibrate using this keyboard..

i really like this one..

Sorry - because that's a closed beta, anyone answering this will have it taken down - it's a matter of copyright infringement and our forums can have no part in it.

I just got an email this morning that they had activated my Swype Beta Account (I applied in October), so they have opened it up again for new users. I downloaded and installed the Beta with no problems. :) LOVE Swype!

Currently using the Gingerbread 2.3 KB and love it. I was using the KB that came with Myn's Warm 2.2 but made too many typing errors.

My husband and I both have HTC Evos: he got his in June and he got me my own in August. Oddly, my Swype Beta invite email arrived last night but my husband hasn't gotten his Beta invite. He is a little sad, so I told him the file size was huge and Swype wasn't as good as I remembered.

:p  ;) :D

Um, it IS as good as I remembered. I just don't want to gloat. :D
