what keyboards are u guys using?

Old thread but I'll bite.

I'm a swype user too and I love it even if it gets completely lost sometimes and you have to manually correct 8 words out of 10 randomly. After recently coming from a phone with a much smaller keyboard, I find swype works a lot better for me if I use it in portrait mode. I felt like I was running a marathon using it landscape on the evo. My accuracy and speed are much better in portrait mode.

very simple.. download the APK, open with astro, and your done.. just like any other keyboard.. i cant seem to find the APK. there was a link.. im worried that the thread got deleted.

go to that link.. in the first post is the apk file.. not the zip file..

its easier to go on your phone.. and just click it.. save the apk file.. open it up.. and viola.. go into settings.. make android keyboard your keyboard.. go into messaging.. long press on the text screen, input method.. done..

swiftkey is hands down the best. Once it learns how you type, you can send alot of messages wit just typing the 1st letter. It will guess the rest of the text for you with you entering ANYTHING. Its amazing.

Same here. I hold it in one hand and swype with my thumb. It's pretty easy to use. I can't go back to taping on the keyboard.

Swype beta is now available for Android. I downloaded it from the swype website, not the market. It is incredible.

You must have registered for the beta at some point. Several people that have registered for the beta received emails letting them know they were excepted, others say they didn't receive an email but just tried it and got in. Their website is stating that the beta is closed.

I'm not even sure how you would use Swype with two hands? I've always only used one also.

thanks for this. i was having trouble because i had the multi touch 2.2 keyboard on there. i had to delete/uninstall that one for the 2.3 android keyboard to be an option. but now, works and works well!

can someone please tell me how to d/l and install the htc_ime transparent keyboard that was on xda. I cant find it. Ive search google for the past 4 hours and cannot find the apk for that keyboard. Im so confused

Nope - some Droid X users in their forum ask for ours, while some here ask for theirs.

It's all personal preference.

I've been trying Keypurr for about a day now and you could call me a convert. I prefer tapping to sliding my finger so swype and slideit aren't for me. The way keypurr uses qwerty, yet the buttons are so big, is great. It's way easier to hit the right keys.

Can you share the apk file of keypurr, please! I don't want to buy it without knowing that it works for me

No, he can't. Sharing apks of copyrighted software is - strictly speaking - illegal, and Android Forums can have no part of that.

Instead, your best bet is to send a private message (PM) to the dev, and ask if he has some sort of demo program so you can decide if it's right for you.
