what keyboards are u guys using?

Guys I still dont know how to get the yellow original smileys to show up in handcent while texting.... any help would be great

Go into Handcent, and before clicking on a conversation or thread, click menu, then settings, then Application Settings, scroll to the bottom, and click on smileys settings, it should show three options Handcent, System Default, and custom, Click on handcent, and you are done!

Now go into a thread and make sure you have the OG yellow circle smileys.

Hope that's what you wanted...

I am using Swiftkey (Paid version) but got it free from the Amazon App of the Day

SwiftKey- I love it! Used swype on my Hero and it just wasn't as fast as I wanted it to be, and still messed up words more often than I liked. SwiftKey is much faster and the predictive text is SO smart after you've been using it a while

Multi-Ling keyboard. I simply adore it. Easy swapping between languages (although you will need to download an addon for each language). It allows you to long press the space bar and change language that way. Super quick swapping as I type in Hungarian to family.

i've been using shapewriter ever since swype closed all their betas. now swype is available and i tried it again but it's not as fast or as good as shapewrite so shapewrite for me. :D

I'm using the stock keyboard. From 2.3.3. Because I love CyanogenMod.

CyanogenMod is a pretty cool guy. Eh makes phones fast, n' keeps 'em up to date. He doesn't afraid of anything.

I love my Swype keyboard. It makes quite a few mistakes, but it is overall pretty great and always something I love showing off to others.

I would make quite a bit of changes to it, but other than that, it is the best that I have used. I have used it, the stock, and another one. My ROM that I am using, Warm two point two, also has some interesting variants of each. Mine are currently black with green touch. It looks very cool.

Wow. It seems like more people than I thought are using "swype like" keyboards now. I just cant get it. Like someone said earlier, if my fingers were transparent, I could use it fine, but i hate not seeing all the buttons. And its just not smart enough for me and my many mistakes.
Smart KB pro is amazing for me. I love the Hero skin, and the custom auto correct is heavenly. It takes a while to build up your library (and you want to kill yourself when you lose that library due to phone failures) but its definitely worth it.

Keyboards? What are we, Cavemen? I've been using speech to text for all my 'text' messaging since I got this phone. Try it.

I'm glad someone said it. LOL

I can see that there are situations where you don't want to talk to your phone - but I get the impression that a lot of folks in this thread have never even tried the speech to text. It is awesome and the only way to text. Especially safely while driving.

I love speech to text and use the heck out of it, but due to noise from the roadster, it doesn't really work for me even when at a light.

Plus I decided to simply read the text at a light and then just hit the phone back button (Handcent) if I needed to reply right away.

When things settle down for me and I get time, I'm going to try SamuraiBigEd's recommendation of FlexT9 - typing, gestures, and speech - sounds way cool to me.

I use a gingerbread keyboard, but I flashed it from myn's updater so it isn't an app. And it's pretty awesome like that. There's no skins or anything so its kind of hard to see in the daylight. But its not too bad its the only one I actually feel comfortable using all the time.

i tried a lot of kb... swiftkey is my fav..

but it does over predicts ..
even if i spell the word i want fully.. it will pick a word that i have used most in that similar sentence.

I had been using Gingerbread but am now participating in the testing of the beta version of SwiftKey2 and have to say I love it so far. Lol, eventually I'm going to forget how to even type!

What is new about it?

To be honest I'm not sure because I have never used it before but it is almost like it reads my mind. Seriously. It does a profile based on your Facebook and texting patterns. It also has an option for directional buttons on the keyboard. I absolutely love it so far.
