what keyboards are u guys using?

i use the GB keyboard as well... i love the placement of the buttons and the "simple" yet sleek look of it

Hell yeah. I also changed my system font to android. And its pretty cool looking with the keyboard. LOL it makes my friends say wtf is up with phone everytime.

Using Smart Keyboard. I just got it last week and really like it. I like the skins that one can choose from as well. I must say, the native keyboard does word choosing as well, but the Smart Keyboard does it faster and more accurately IMHO. I used Swype, but its inaccuracy, at least in the version that I got in the update, became cumbersome and slowed my down quite a bit.

htc is has a new keyboard to out shine swype.... it was released with the new HTC Sensation.

some think it will be packaged with all new Sense 3.0

I used to use swype but too many errors, saving messed up words, typing numbers is a pain, etc...

I switched to GB, and it is AWESOME! It's just so fluid and quick and responsive. My texting speed has increased heavily

GB = gingerbread

i tried a lot of kb... swiftkey is my fav..

but it does over predicts ..
even if i spell the word i want fully.. it will pick a word that i have used most in that similar sentence.

I have been using swift key for a while now. And while I do like how well it seems to predict my next word, I totally agree with you on this point. I don't always watch the predictive text area of the keyboard(I suppose thats missing the point of the keyboard. But sometimes it just seems faster to me to type the word no, then to look and see if it predicted it correctly. But it is very annoying when I don't look and it changes a word I typed correctly to something else entirely. So I am trying to figure out if I should stick with swiftkey and just do better at watching what it predicts or try something else.

I'm using the Swiftkey2 beta version and have never used Swiftkey before, so this may not be an option in the existing version, but check under Prediction Mode in Settings and select Manual. This will allow you to type the full word while allowing prediction at the top. You won't have to select any of the words it picks, you can just space and move on. Again, I apologize if this isn't in the existing version but if it is maybe it will help. So far I'm loving this keyboard! :D

Smart Keyboard Pro here. Tried most of the others y'all mentioned and I found myself stuck on this one. I like the skins too. Mix it up now and again to feel like I have a new phone. ha

Flex t9 keyboard available for free today in Amazon app store. seems pretty nice so far. Has swype like features. Not sure when one would use drawing feature( like old graffiti)

Just downloaded this today. Well worth the free pricetag

What's everyones issue with the gingerbread keyboard? Honestly, I've tried all the others and each has an issue I don't like.

Just wondering really.

Srsly - you're about to open a can of worms, so I'll make it simple:

The issue with the Gingerbread keyboard is that some people don't like it, and other people prefer something else better.

The end.

Discussing about what's wrong with something takes forever when it's totally subjective.

Please say what you prefer about the GB keyboard in comparison to the others, and you'll get further ahead, much faster.

For my own part, I promise you: when someone makes the perfect keyboard, we'll all agree and use it.

Not gonna happen - never. ;)

People don't come off an assembly line - we all have preferences that fall under this category:

Your mileage may vary.

The stock android keyboard are always the best keyboards. Simple known fact :p

What I like about it: most intuitive typing experiense. Caps and symbols key located in the right spot. Word prediction does interfere with the message box. Punctuation always located up top. Tap to correct misspelled or wrong auto corrected words.. no need for arrows!

And lots of skins floating around for it

:)

The perfection of the GB keyboard will be revealed when everyone dumps the Ice Cream one in favor of it. :D

Yeah - I know, no fair comparing to future keyboards.

FlexT9 - now there's an interesting keyboard. I'm still going to need time to decide if it's my fave or not. There are times when the option to just scribble letters can't be beat.

Better keyboard 8 (gingerbread) it's really responsive, custom skins are awesome, you can adjust the key height and all other sorts of cool features are available.

Scribble? I have to check it out then.

Using GB for now.

I used Swype until the OTA update kept me from adding the update that will allow the removal of the incessant "hint box" popup. Swype gave all kinds of lip service about it being disabled, but its a bunch of crap... Shame cuz I loved it until that box drove me crazy.

I hated that box too, but it is gone from my current (latest) version.

I started with Swype but I switched over to Swiftkey for the longest time. I just started using FlexT9 when it was free on the Amazon market. I really like it but I much prefer how Swype handles punctuations. I wish you could combine the word prediction of Swiftkey into FlexT9 and the punctuation handler of Swype!
