What kind of pen do you use...

Might sound like a weird thread, but my pack of cheap Zebra ballpoints has nearly ran out, and I was wondering if it would be better/cheaper to get a "proper pen" and refills, rather than buying another set every so often. Also, I guess it's heavily based on what kind of pen I'd prefer too...

What kind of pen do you use?

If I'm using a ball point I use the Parker Jotter. Have used these for years & just love 'em. Medium ball points write great & any of their gel refills write horrible.

If I use a gel pen I use the Pilot G-2. If you buy these make sure you get the fine point. The ultra fines write like crap & the bold gives out too much ink. It should say Pilot G-2 07 on the pen clip for the fine point. I also have the G2 Limited which uses the same refills, but is a heavier & overall nicer looking pen than the basic ones.

I love the uni-ball pens. I ge the "vision Elite" though I don't think there are refills for them, but I bought a 4 pack 2 years ago when I started my current job and I still have 3 left That I'm using

I use the Pilot Hi-tecpoint V5 Grip. This pen because it is a 0.5mm pen. When I went to Australia and New Zealand, it seems that most of the pens there are 0.5mm. In North America, most of the pens use a 0.7mm ball. I got found I really like the finer one.

I generally use what ever is available as long as it writes then the job gets done. So yeah a working pen would be my choice ;)

I usually use whatever type the job have. I've brought so many home from my jobs, that I do not buy any. But I do like medium ball point pens the most.

I actually really enjoy the Zebra pens. Specifically the F-301 and F-301 Compact. These two models have refills available as well. :D

The compact pen is great for always having with you. That being said, I'm always on the look out for new pens, so I'll be sure to look into what everyone else is suggesting. :)

Around twenty years ago I received a couple of pens in the mail. They were prototypes of an advertising company.. "put your company logo on these pens" sort of deal. I never ordered any but I'm still using the second one. The first pen ran out of ink a couple of years ago. I doubt seriously if the real items were as good as their sales pitch pens.

Office Max or Bic pens. Really anything I find lying around in school. Someone leaves their pen, I take it and use it until I loose it.

I can't remember the last time I bought a pen for myself .. I get so many given for free, I haven't needed to actually buy one in ages. But then, I guess I don't really use pens much anyway ..

I was using a Penmate flex grip, but it required a lot of effort to use it (over long periods) I find finding a good pen harder as I write with 4 fingers, which has an impact on my writing

Anyone know/reckon Staples will let me try before I buy? Thinking I'll just get a Jotter and some cheap Penmate ones, unless the Parker Urban is good

Parker Jotter most of the time. Not terribly expensive (~$5), but they have never let me down and don't break easily.

When I need a nice pen I use a Cross pen (about $60 from DallasCowboys.com)

I have too many pens to list. Seems I have a thing for ink pens. Everywhere I go I try to get a pen.. doctors office, dentist, lady at the counter of the grocery store, pharmacist, bank teller etc. etc. etc. I just simply explain that I collect them and nine times out of ten I walk away with a new pen.

I've never stolen a pen. Harassed someone endlessly till they caved, yes. But never stolen. ;)

And yes, it's true. No pen on earth will work when you're trying to jot down a phone number/address from someone on the other end of the phone.
