I keep going back and forth between launcher pro and touch wiz. Launcher pro is cooler but it seems to cause some lag. So my vote is touch wiz. For now.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say that Touchwiz caused less lag than Launcher Pro. Or any launcher for that matter.

It does. It also causes my live wallpapers to freeze.

You do know that when you use other launchers, touch wiz strays running in the background at all times.

not if you use home switcher and set launcher pro or whatever launcher you want to use as the default

I've gone back and forth between TW and Launcher Pro and settled on Launcher Pro for some time now. I also tried ADW for a while, but for me, it almost has too many options. Launcher Pro is very smooth and does the job great for me.

That's true, but I wonder if you ever launch Touchwiz while Launcher pro is set by default, does it continue to run in the background until you reboot...

I use launcher pro just because everyone else does I feel, I dont really think that I use any of the features.

On a side note (please dont get angry) does anyone elses contacts icon in the dock say could not launch the requested activity when pressed?

yeah i had to go and long click and change shortcut , applications-contact that fixed it for me

I tried launcher pro coming from ahem iphone but I like ADW. All of the features I want are there and you don't have to pay for the default stuff like widget resizing etc.

I'm going to try launcher pro again just to confirm. I could have sworn touch wiz was always running in the background, and I used Home Switch.

I like ADW Launcher the best. I just like the design of it best, and the options it gives its users. There are a few others besides ADW and Launcher pro I really like as well, but didn't feel as refined as ADW.

Bought Launcher Pro Plus and I don't regret it. Definitely worth spending a few dollars to support a good app. Runs like a champ, and they're custom widgets are nice too.

Launcher Pro Plus here as well. I used to swap between ADW and LPP, but the FC's on ADW get a little out of hand. Launcher Pro just seems more stable and a bit snappier.

Launcher Pro is amazingly good, but it is a bit slower than stock launcher.

I love going portrait in the home screens, but the icons are crunched together

I stayed with stock for about a week, and the longer I stay with LP Plus the more of a devotee I become :) The dev keeps pumping out some pretty fantastic widgets and I love the flexibility.

I love launcher pro for three main reasons:

1. Can go landscape on homescreens.
2. Can hide apps in the appdrawer
3. (and best) Multiple docks means I can have a very minimalist phone. I'm down to 3 homescreens and I'm about to free up some more space as there's a widget I no longer use. =)

You call that minimalist?

I have one home screen, one dock only. Two widgets on home screen: news and engadget. Two widgets in notification bar: temperature and battery level.

Now THAT is minimalist.

Just the icons I use the most. All I need at one glance.

k... didn't realize we were having a minimalist showdown.

Don't be upset. I'm just an extreme minimalist so the word triggered a challenge for some reason. Sorry. I need to calm down. :)

You do realize that having a competitive reaction here kind of destroys your minimalist credentials dontcha?

By reacting to my post you prove to us and yourself that you actually are not a minimalist. If you were, you would have never found yourself within our ring of comparisons.

edit: this was funny when I drunkenly posted it. I was joking. Sober: not so much. It's all good buddy! =)
