What launcher do you use?

How do you access the settings menu in Nova? In Go, there is the three dot button next to the multi task button. In Nova, you need to tap the settings app....correct?

There is a settings icon in the app drawer, by default nova puts that on your desktop.
You can also assign one of the screen gestures to go into settings.

the screen rotates with go launcher. Its in the settings. I just don't like it cause when I'm laying on my side, the screen rotates to landscape.
The only thing go launcher is missing is gestures and widgets in the app drawer...
I tried fooling around with nova again, and you can't make folders unless you pay?

i actually enjoy apex launcher, works like a freaky charming HOWEVERRRRRRR...it does stutter with the deep sea live wallpaper from the SGIII but in its defense it is a SGIII lw...oh well

just tinkered with it and lag is gone if you change from default background...now i gotta see why i can only change it to black smh lol

I've been using Nova since it was a beta version. Its been rock solid for me. The only Prime feature I'd like is to hide apps in the drawer, so for me prime is too much $ for what it offers. I'd gladly pay $1-2 but not $4. But that's just me.

As for folders, if you are talking about on the homescreens, just drop shortcuts on top of each other just like in stock. If you are talking about folders in the dock, yes that requires Prime.

Nova Launcher Prime unlocks the following features in Nova Launcher:

Drawer Groups:
Folders in App Drawer
Unlimited custom tabs
Organize apps into tabs and folders in the app drawer

Gestures
Quickly start Nova Actions or Apps from gestures on the desktop, such as pinching, swiping or two-finger swiping.

Hide Apps
Keep a clutter free drawer by hidding never used apps.

Dock Swipes
Get more use out of your dock apps by setting swipe-actions

Unread Counts
Never miss an email. Unread count badges for SMS, Missed calls and Gmail. Counts show in the dock, desktop, drawer and folders.
More Scroll Effects

Yes, I know the settings app can be added to a screen or dock but I like always having access to it and not having to go look for it - which is why access through the app drawer doesn't solve it.

Gestures could be a solution....I never played with that option. I'll give it a shot.

In Nova, if you open the app drawer you can access the Nova settings through the 3 dot menu button at the top of the page.

It sounds like you want direct access to Nova settings but without taking up any on screen real estate? Is it a matter of not wanting to use up a grid space or not wanting to have the icon on screen detracting from your look? If its the former, then gestures may be your only option short of rooting and doing some custom navigation tray or notification bar. If its just an appearance thing, you could simply replace the stock shortcut icon with something custom or even go with an invisible icon that only you would know was there....

The more I think about it...it just sounds silly. One extra step wouldn't kill me!
My reasoning though....I don't mind it being on my home screen but I'm not always ON my home screen. So I would need to go home to open the app or into the app drawer to access it. But gestures could be the solution.

The ROM I had on my DInc had the settings options in the notification pull down. I did like that.

Try the gestures. By default, when you unlock NovaPrime (get a nova pro license) to get into settings you double tap the screen when phone is on. Pretty quick

Interesting conversation. Personally I don't need to change the launchers settings all that often. Configured it the way I liked and pretty much forgot it.

I took a look at Go launcher and it seemed overly complicated to do the simplest things. Too many options overwhelming the user experience.

Nova Prime gets my vote... i've been through a lot of android devices/roms/launchers and IMHO Nova with the prime upgrade is everything you could want in a launcher. And its compatible with ADW and Go Launcher icon packs so your options are essentially limitless.

I'm one who likes to customize anything and everything about the look and feel of my phone, and Nova allows me to do that. My $.02

ok, playing with nova again today. It could grow on me. Is there anyway to pull a dock bar image from a GO theme over to nova?

Also, I am so used to the GO Launcher calendar widget. Is there anything comparable?

Which look of the Go Calendar widget do you like? There is probably something on the market that would suffice. I'm a big fan of the Simple Calendar widget.

I have switched to Nova, at least until Apex fixes the wallpaper. I may even stay with Nova because it has more gestures, which means I can launch more apps.

I would love for Nova to put the missed calls notification on the app drawer icon the way Apex does because I don't use an icon for the phone, I use a gesture.

I use it with steel blue theme by Team Carbon. So its the same color blue as my time, battery, and signal around the borders and transparent. I'll post a screenshot after work today.

Nova Prime for me. I used stock for a good while, but started using Nova during its beta, and upgraded to Prime after it hit the market. I like it, and the features are great.

I've used Go Launcher on my Droid though... it's pretty good too.

In Nova, if you open the app drawer you can access the Nova settings through the 3 dot menu button at the top of the page.

Another way, tap and hold on any home screen and the old "add stuff" popup appears. In the upper right corner is a wrench. Tap the wrench and BOOM!, Nova settings.

I've used Nova basically since it came out, but I never sprung for the Prime version. Very recently I've switched to Apex Launcher, and I like it better for little things like elastic scrolling and gestures in the free version. I also like some of the transition effects available, like the tablet one.

You can edit any shortcut on the homescreens or the dock. So all you'd need to do is grab the icons from your other launcher. Undoubtedly they are stored somewhere on your phone now that they are installed.

Yeah, the dock icons I've changed in nova. There's an image you can use in go launcher themes you can use for the dock bar.

I have both Apex and Nova but use Apex for my permanent home launcher. When ever I use Nova I always get black boxes when swiping through home screens or coming from the app drawer.

Another reason I stopped using Nova for now was because the gestures for clockwise and counter clockwise were very hit or miss for me. May have to give it another go if they update it again.

This is my GO Launcher EX setup.
is there any way to get that calendar widget on Nova?? Also can I get the dock bar from my GO Launcher theme on Nova?

If I upgrade from Nova to Nova Prime, do I lose all my settings and customizations or are they saved and carried over to Prime?
