What now?

So basically I can just download CM6 and flash it now, right? Then it'll replace the sense UI? Will sense be deleted permanently unless I flash my original nandroid? Also, should I do a factory reset and then do a nandroid backup of that before flashing CM6? That way I'll have the original settings on file.

God I feel stupid... How do I back everything up to my PC after making backups on the phone?

Ok, two things...

I'm not ready to flash CM6 yet (I want to do some research), but would like to get rid of some bloatware (stock Sprint stuff mostly) just so I can get the hang is it. Hoe Di I so that?

Also... Is it possible to restore a system app/data using Titanium, after flashing CM6? Basically, can stock apps be restored on other ROMs?

Yes....You should be able to find Nascar sprint etc if you want it.
But it would be easier to flash a rom that had the Bloat and use titanium to remove it.

Titanium - But be careful - some apps are tied to the Phone - There is a list of safe apps on XDA - sorry no link.

Ok this may be a dumb question... But now that I'm rooted, can use all of the root-only apps from the market (OC widget, setCPU, etc)?

The general answer to your question is yes, as Andy mentioned. However, keep in mind, that OC Widget and SetCPU are widgets that control the CPU speed of the phone, and are not compatible with all ROMS. They will work with some ROMs, and with other ROMS you will need to flash a custom kernel.

It is always best to read the details of each ROM before installing them.

Can I use OC and SetCPU in CM6? Also, after I've installed a ROM, can I delete it from my SD card I'm order to save space? Or does have to stay in order to use the ROM?

Yes on the overclock apps. I'm pretty sure you can delete the zip files after you install the rom.

Maybe I'm just buzzed about finally rooting my phone, but it definately seems to be faster since rooting. I haven't flashed anything yet, but the lag has been reduced dramatically. Is this something that just happens, and then the lag comes back? It kinda moves the way it did when I first got it.

Sometime, just rebooting speeds things up..So if you didn't have a habit of rebooting regularily, then you did when you rooted....hence the speed-up...

Rooting in itself doesn't speed up anything...removing bloatware might help, but installing a custom ROM will make the biggest difference

I normally reboot every two days. I don't know though, the phone just has a crispiness that I haven't seen before. There's still some dialer lag though. Maybe its just me.

Does USB debugging need to be on in order to copy zip files over to my PC?

Also, I plugged in my USB and my PC wants to find software for the Hero. Problem is, my PC can't find it. Do I need it?

You might need to set up the right drivers for your phone. Either download HTC Sync or download PDA Net from the android market to set up the drivers

I'm purchasing a new SD card, and want to format that new SD card so that I can use A2SD after installing NFX Sprint ....7 (I'm currently on Fresh 2.4.0, but there's just too little space for me).

Can someone give me step-by-step instructions on how to move my files (pics, Nandroid backups, etc) from my current SD card to me new one (before or after formatting?) so that I'm set up for the A2SD 2.7.5.2 that's included with NFX Sprint. Thanks!!

Nfinite gives detailed apps 2 sd information in his signature.

I know that he provides "instructions" but it's kinda greek to me...

"First and foremost you need to either edit the boot.img you have or grab one from a rom that has it enabled already." If I'm using NFX Sprint...7, do I need to do that? If so... how do I unpack? how do I edit with his code... sorry, just seems like some more detailed instructions are needed.

Also, my key question is what order to do things in... do I format my new card FIRST, then copy stuff over from the old card? If so, what partition do I copy to?

Sorry for all the questions - just don't have any experience with this stuff.
