Meh - TP2 was the last great WM device for more than one carrier. Those of us who don't have T-Mobile, don't consider the HD2 the last great WM Device available to them. Not to mention, physical keyboard addicts would say the Touch Pro 2 over the HD2 just for the simple fact that the Tp2 has hands down the best physical keyboard ever put on a mobile device. <3 my Tp2
That being said, i'm not ditching it, it's becoming my secondary, but my Touch Pro 2 is being replaced by the Evo as my Main device.

I 100% feel the same...unfortunately, I really do believe that Palm does not have the means to do this...not even saying they will go under. I just think they dont have the cash flow to get a brand new hardware out that matches the EVO's specs.
Dont get me wrong I LOVE WebOS, and I am actually a little turned down about having to go to Android after using it for a year....but Palm's problem is not the OS, its the hardware.
Man I would have love it if HTC would have bought Palm after WebOS became a hit.

I went through 5 of these before I received one that actually worked the way they said it would. Sprint bobbled this device just like the Pre. Everyone I know that has a Tour has received at least 1 replacement.
Can't wait have such a beastly phone!

rumored release date. Right now dates are between april 18th and june 13th and just about every day inbetween.

I've never heard any believable info for April. There is an announcement on April 16th but I believe the consensus is that it will be the announcement of the release date and price. In addition, that's sort of when the official ad campaign will be starting according to most Sprint insiders.

I remember with the Pre release they didn't give a hard date for a while since they were finalizing the software and flashing the ROMs as they went out. Then there are always shipping and distribution issues so sometimes they don't know for certain until a few weeks before launch.

oh phone arena started the 18th one. they saw a post on facebook about it so they made sure to tell everyone it was quickly changed but neverless its in the books now. but june 6th is the date I choose and my friend in sprint HQ says thats the target. But some manager at my local best buy said he got a letter saying it was gonan be late may. So in all honestly NO ONE but dan hesse (and even if he knows for sure) when the release is.

I think the late May thing is the Best Buy pre-sale where you can put down $50 and get it as a gift card toward the phone and your name on a list.
Either way, I'm just assuming first through third week in June depending on how the details work out. I've waited longer and my Pre, while getting a little old, still does everything I need...just not everything I want

he swears up and down it was for full release and I told him maybe pre-orders and he said he got a memo about that as well seperate. If you ever met a best buy manager you just nod and agree and walk off and laugh. This guy told me last year pre's would be on sale may 1st lol

Well no offense to your friend but Best Buy isn't exactly known for giving valid info. Still, if he's right that's cool too. I'm just basing my info on the more credible rumors and info I've gotten from Sprint employees. I tend to be a little wary of info from CS reps, kiosk sales people, and 3rd party retailers. They seem like the last ones to get this kind of info.
If I'm wrong, I will eat my words...on Qik because I will still be buying my Evo on launch day

oh I know he a moron heck he is the dumbest pile of crap I've ever met. I mean for one he thinks best buy has good prices... the only thing good priced at best buy are cell phones.. I mean seriously 99 dollars for an HDMI cable> Ive seen their computer system it only costs best buy 20 bucks.
I do have one person I talk to high up in sprint that knows alot but I dont press her or she will stop feeding me the tid bits she gives me right now lol sigh she even showed me her evo
