Accessories What this phone needs: A replacement backplate??

Would you purchase a more grippy backplate to replace the factory one, provided the price was right?

  • Yes!! Let's see if we can get someone to make one!!

  • No. I like gloss on the back of my phone, or don't mind the thicker cases.

I personally don't have a problem with the the slick back. Its never slid out of my hand or anything.

But I do have my plasti-dip stuff, so I will try this out in the near future and I will post a how-to guide for anyone interested to use.
Looking forward to it

Let us know how it works. My main fear would be it wearing off with frequent use. And it's still going to make the phone a tad thicker, although hopefully less than a shell.

I have been using the High Gloss Silicon case from Verizon for awhile now and really like it. It sits above the glass and allows me to put the phone face down w/ plenty of clearance. I'm free to toss it here and there w/ ease instead of gently setting it down for fear of scratching the back. But mostly, it just feels better in my hand. Just like the Incredible before it, the Fas feels "odd" without a case...too thin for my tastes. And it's not 4" thick. :p

Thanks for chiming in!! We got a couple of "no" votes. Definitely some people that like the glossy look. Nothing wrong with that! I just want people who hate the gloss to have another option.

I actually like the silicone verizon cover - keeps it from getting scratched and gives the phone some heft in my big hands - also protects it in the odd chance I drop it - definally a plus...

I still google search this occasionally in hopes that someone has produced a "soft touch" back cover for our phones... Every time I pick up a HTC phone and feel the back of them ... I sigh. It seems like such a simple, doable thing.

I hear ya. As soon as something pops up, you can be sure I'll post it here.
