Help what to do! - drooped connections

Ive gotten good connects before but this week ive had nothing but continous drooped internet connections. Getting frustrating

Both 902 & 905 have this issue... anyone else experience this?

Are other Verizon users in your area having the same problem?

I am in a 3G-only area and over the last six months went through two periods where it just kept dropping the data connection. This just started happening one day and two weeks later it stopped as suddenly as it started.

Two and a half months later exactly the same thing happened and it lasted exactly two weeks.

My conclusion was that they were working on the tower and that was the cause.

Checking with my local Verizon store ... they knew nothing ... of course.

So ... ignore the Verizon store and ask some other Verizon users in your area.

Document when it started and (just for me) tell us if it ends exactly two weeks after it started.

I use my phone for data apps a lot (up to 10GB/mo) and lately things have been worse where I'm at (South San Jose) than I've seen in the past. I literally was losing connections more than 50 times a day. I'd lose it every few moments. Since I got 905 it's much better, but I still get data interruptions even though the 4G icon is blue. On 902, it wasn't shy about switching to white or disappearing. BTW, when I was on 901 connectivity was excellent...

... I think the answer is "maybe". I'm not sure which witch trials were being asked about.

The last witch trial I saw was in a City Co Council meeting in Keene, NH. (It failed by the way.)

Same in middle Georgia. Started getting flakey about a week before the upgrade to 905 and continues to get worse. LTE Going in and out all day long.

A lot of people starting experiencing these issues roughly around the time it was rumored .905 was going into soak test. My personal belief is that this has nothing to do with the .905 update, as I was not part of the soak test and saw the issues on .902.

About a day before I did the update I saw that the data drops weren't as bad. They still don't seem as bad as what they were, but are occasionally still happening. I have a friend who has a Bionic and we noticed the other day that the drops were occuring near simultaneously for us.

My opinion is that this is not something going wrong with the Bionic. If it was a phone failure, why would so many be failing at the exact same time. I am thinking Verizon is doing, or has done, something to their network. I don't know if all 4G phones are seeing issues (of course when I went to CDMA mode when the problem was really bad here, I was getting data drps on 3G as well), or if there is something specific about the Bionic that makes it susceptible to these data drops. But I think it's apparent Verizon has done something on their end. Whether it's temporary or not, who know, but obviously I am hoping it is.

I had this problem too and lots of others as well.

callled verizon multiple times and they tried blaming my location or my phone. Tell them that this is happening nationwide.

We pay for 4g with our 4g phones, so we deserve the service

Yea, I'm gonna call them today. This is crazy. I can hardly get data anymore. I had 4g almost all the time untill this update. After the OTA update I installed eclipse 3.0. Is anyone else having issues with data on this rom or is it just .905?

So freaking annoying...

Same here in High Point & Greensboro NC. I was ok on. 902 but now on. 905 and it's been horrible.

Hi. Anyone else have issues with Bionic dropping data frequently after latest OS update?

Is certainly "feels" like this is a problem not directly associated with 5.9.905 (as Wildkitten noted).

I am in a 3G-only area on 5.9.905, I was a soak tester, and am not experiencing the data drops.

There also seems that this problem might be hitting specific areas of the country. We have gone through this in the past when Verizon rolled out some change to their towers (unannounced) and it hit different towers at different elapsed day periods.

So ... Southwestern New Hampshire ... 3G-only ... no problem.

I was using Eclipse 3 but went back to Eclipse 2.2 & 902 (mostly b/c my phone froze up once on Eclipse 3 - no such trouble with Eclipse 2.2). Data drops don't seem quite as bad as they recently have been, although it isn't shy about going to white 3G/4G and switching back to blue 4G, or NoG for a bit. Good to know this is happening in other parts of the country and not just to me!

Thom let me ask you this.

This problem seemed to start popping up around the time .905 started going out in soak test. It has been more noticeable in some area and less noticeable in others and has cleared up more in other areas while possibly getting worse then in others areas.

It also seems to not care if someone is on .902 or .905. I think some believe it's a .905 issue because of the timing. I also do not believe it is a Bionic fault problem inherent to the hardware of the phone itself failing because so many are experiencing it at the same time.

Could it be that Verizon did some change on their network that affects how the Bionic holds on to a data signal because of the anticipated changes of .905? And I mean changes specifically targeted to Bionic phones. Did other 4G phones get updates concerning 4G and holding on to data?

Yeah since this issue started a week or so ago, I have noticed a lot of "blue to white" moments. Not as many now, but late last week is was to the point of every couple of minutes.

Ok, so. I just got off the phone with vzw peeps. They reset my data connection and it seems to be back to normal. Fast and consistent. They said there were calls about outages in PA. But not any around here (NC). So if your experiencing any 4G/ 3G. Outage or slowness call and get it reset.

I did the same thing. I called them and they reset my phone. So far so good.

I think it's the network. I'm at the point of calling Verizon. Probably won't do any good though. I've been dropping 3g & 4g pretty bad for the last month and I just got .905. This is in Orange County, Ca and the last week in Portland, Or. My husband's Galaxy Nexus is doing the same thing.

My data worked great last night after the reset but not so much now. Im gonna call them again tonight. The more people that call the better.
