What to do with the internal 6.6gb storage?

I would like to put my music on it, but other than the stock HTC music app, I can't find a player that supports the internal storage. PowerAMP will see the music, but only in it's "Folder" view. You can't list music by genre, artist, album, etc...

I would like to put my ringtones on it, which works great. Except... I discovered Tasker can't use ringtones on the internal storage. Not like it matters, I don't have that many ringtones.

So I guess I will just use it for videos, pictures, and other random files I download.

It's a pity... all that space... and few apps can use it.

Unless there has been some miracle work around that would be like the second coming... when you remove a partition you destroy the fat integrity. In other words.. the files would still be there.. but it would be impossible to find them. They are spattered all over the drive without an address to find them. And to start making the newly merged space usable.. a format to create a new fat would be a must. Everything is gone and your phone is a brick.

Ok so how in the hell are you guys getting full length movies and such on this phone or full seasons of tv shows. I can understand movies i guess if it was encoded as a xvid file or something but 6 seasons of shows....how in the world u doing that?

Actually, I find the stock HTC music player to be pretty good. It suits my needs and allows me to use the internal memory.

I don't mind the stock player actually. It's pretty good.

I rather dig PowerAMP though. I really like the equalizer w/preamp. In a noisier environment, I find the DInc's media volume a little lacking. It's my old ears I'm sure. All these years of listening to music at volumes enough to make my ears ring has taken it's toll. ;-)

where is the internal storage located? I can browse around with astro but most directories it wont let me write to them.

It should be in /mnt/emmc

I use Doggcatcher for podcasts and store them on the internal memory. For music, I use MixZing and also store it on my internal memory. I think I have about 20 podcasts and 60 albums stored there and still have a couple GB free.

I convert them on my PC using a program called DvdCatalyst. Been using it for years and it works great.

I just tried using the trial version of DVD Catalyst and it only ripped 20 minutes of the movie and said "Trial ended" haha. Weak sauce! Anyways, I forgot I had a program Called MagicDVD Ripper on my PC from a few years back when I put a few movies on my iPod and used that. There wasn't an option for Incredible b/c the program is kind of old so I used iPhone resolution/screen. I just transfered Inception to my Inc and I was surprised at how good the picture is! The movie was just under 1GB is that normal for a 2hr 30min movie or should I try adjusting settings? This is new territory to me so any input/advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance

Yea the average size for a typical avi movie file is 700mb to 1.38gb. Depending on length and quality. I would think converting it to mp4 would make it even smaller but that all depends on the original file

When I go into "videos" on my phone it's listed as mp4 already. I don't think I'll be putting a ton of movies on my phone because it does take up a lot of space. Probably will just throw a few of my faves on there.
