What was your favorite horror film as a kid?

What movie got you going as a kid?

Mine was The Last Man on Earth (1964) - IMDb . Vincent Price was a classic!! This movie is why I enjoy Zombie movies/shows. The classic horror films were simplistic and enjoyable IMO. Even the comedy horror films.

P.S. I love Halloween and all the gory movies!!

Not gonna lie...the original Elm Street scared the living bejeezus out of me. Original Halloween is an all time fave also.

Original nightmare on elm street. Gave me nightmares first time I seen it:eek:

As a kid, probably the first Friday the 13th. Lots of killing and boobies I wasn't old enough to be looking at lol. And of course, Jason jumping out of the water at the end!

Hmm... The most scariest horror movie I've ever seen and my fave too is "The Ring"
I saw it first time when I was in junior high school (before that I never see any).
It's Japanese movie and it has sequel from 1-4. Even now they remake it again with different stories but still using the same ghost.

I am to the point where I root for Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers. The characters in those movies do such stupid things I think they all need to die.

I was never allowed to watch horror movies at home as a kid. I did watch some at a friend's house though. We watched the House series and The Shining (which I really love) and quite a few others that don't stick in my head except An American Werewolf In London. I love it still to this day and when ever my kids go out for a walk or something I tell them to stay off the moors.

As I got into my teen years I finally got to see horror movies in the theater (The Final Nightmare, People Under The Stairs, Wolf, Child's Play 2, Hellraiser). Then my later years in high school I watched lots of horror movies, mostly B rate stuff (Evil Dead and Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn, Dead Alive, Reanimator, Bride of Reanimator).

My favorite mainstream horror movie would have to be Hellraiser or The Final Nightmare (Alice Cooper was a good choice for Freddy's father).

B-Rate Comedy/Horror is Dead Alive/Braindead or Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn

I also really like both House of 1000 Corpses or The Devil's Rejects but many people don't consider them to be horror movies.

a lot of those but one I'm surprised I have not seen someone say is one of my favorites:

such a great movie

1 movie comes to my mind growing up was Salem's Lot :vamp:(the original version w/David Soul) really freaked me out to this day:afraid::afraid::afraid:

My favorite scary movie is still the original Halloween (you can't kill the boogeyman), but I do remember having frightful nightmares after seeing the Exorcist.
Wait.... maybe that was just because of the date I was on at the time.;)
Yah... that one didn't work out.

The Wicker Man - Original NOT the remake(s).

for a 'horror' film that's so bad it's funny try 'Blood on Satan's Claw'
