My first phone was a basic LG flip phone, then I got the Moto Q, dropped it and shattered the screen, so I got a blackberry 8830 and then (upgraded?) to the storm, and now the Droid. IMHO the Droid is my favorite phone.

The wife and I had the original strom. She talked me into dumping them and going with the iPhone. I have talked her into dumping the iPhone and we are now back with Verizon and both have Droids and could not be happier!

An expensive lesson however one I have now learned, AT&T is junk.

Funny side bar -- I was on the phone with Verizon earlier today and mentioned to them that I was actually glad they raised their ETF fee to $350.00 for advanced devices. She asked why and I explained to her that now there was no way the wife could talk me out of jumping ship to another carrier. She laughed and said that was a new one...

I had the LG Dare. I actually liked the phone but I need to access work email and I couldn't do that with the Dare and I didn't want a crackberry.

Husband: Samsung i730 (3 years) --> Samsung i760 (2.5 years) --> Droid (2 weeks); conclusion: love Android even with only a release 2.0 versus MSWM @6.5

Wife: xv6700 (3 years) -->Storm2 (2 weeks) --> Droid; conclusion: she loves it

Here's my last few:

Now: Motorola Droid

<begin period of serious depression>
LG EnV Touch (6 Months)
LG EnV (2 years)
<end period of serious depression>

HTC XV6700 (eventually hacked to WM 6.5) (1 to 2 years)

iPhone 3GS. One of the best phones or devices I've ever owned. However, I've become more and more frustrated with the walled garden approach that Apple enforces over their domain. Sold my iPhone and got enough to pay the ETF and buy the Droid. Open source + better network = better experience.

i'm gonna say i was probably the only person on this forum with the helio ocean. had it for two years before my contract ran out and switched the next day to the droid! ocean actually wasn't that bad for texting (you know what, that keyboard was really better!!!) but the droid has about 800 other things it does better.

Casio Exilim w/ 5MP Camera Flip Screen (WAY WAY BETTER Camera than Droid Best Camera Phone I've had).
Casio G'z One Boulder
=====
AT&T...
Slivr (not bad, better size wise, and durability, no flip!)
Razr (POS, all hype.. no durability)
=====
Alltell
Nokia 3585i (Still have still works, possibly the best phone phone I've had.)
=====
Sprint
Samsung SCH3500 (Way ahead of its time)

Blackberry tour on Verizon. Loved that blackberry except for the small screen. And the crappy web browser. And the way it jumbled up emails that had links or pictures. And the, oh well you get the idea...

I was using Omnia with blazingwolf Rom. I was looking at maybe getting the Droid, but as soon as I saw Blazingwolf had jumped ship I knew I would no longer get updates to my Omnia.......damn you wolf! and thank you too!! :D

Yeah I had an omnia from Verizon too. Pretty good phone when it has a cooked rom. But chefs stopped cooking as much and omnia 2 still feels like its gonna take awhile. But overall it was a great phone. Before that I had an LG dare and and LG TV phone.

Thanks for your input. I also have not found an easy way. I have also started over fresh with reentry of all my contacts into gmail (what a pain) I love the droid so far however, it's always frustrating using a device that is just starting out and has not had all it's kinks figured out yet. I think it will only get better with time. I wish they would have developed some type of PC PDA program for the droid so you could do things on your computer (such as you could with the palm) and then be able to sync it to the phone. It's tough to use it a true PDA without that capability. Thanks. toys4fun
