What would make the trackball light up blue??

I am just wondering what would make the trackball light blueish?? Even the menu and search icon looks blue.

A white LED gives off a blueish color. Other then that it would have to do with the color of the material the LED is shining through.

Maybe the phone is just having a bad day...

It might have lost it's dog...
Maybe it can't find a job...

But anyway, seriously, it displays a BLUE hue? My Orb shows white, it is probably the LED...

Your question though brings ideas to mind, that multiple LED's could allow for different colored indication for events, such as alarms, or that all important person you didn't want to miss a call from - by showing RED, lol... you wouldn't have to look to see who it is, just answer based on color, now that would be cool!

So after reading your question and seeing your avatar I believe it is only natural that your heroes ball is blue.;)

You had to know someone would say it.

are you saying.. it was white... but now it looks blue?

Yes it used to be white. It has been doing it for about a month now. So somehow it magically turned blue.

Actually, my Sidekick could like up one of 7 or 8 different colors, depending on what the alert was. I had it something linke blue for text messages, purple for email, red for missed calls, etc. And it would cycle through the colors each blink if I had multiple things. It also lit up with all the colors for calls, which was pretty trippy cool. :)

If you figure it out lemme know, I'd like a lil' color in my trackball.

On that note, I wonder how hard it would be to crack my phone open and put a red led in there...
 
Did you have on some sort of blue nail polish that might have rubbed on or some sort of ink on your finger from a pen or something. Here's a question is the ball lighter then it was or dimmer. Maybe one of the led broke behind the ball and your seeing the material more behind it giving you a bluish tint. My other theory is your phone has evolved into something else all together and i would get rid of it before it ends the world.

You been using Viagra? I have read that one of the possible side effects is a blue tint to what you see. :rolleyes:

umm ok all these responses are kinda weird. No I dont paint my nails. I dont have on sun glasses. And sorry not on viagra either. Maybe something did break. thanks anyways guys lol
 
Do you know anyone else locally with a Hero you can compare with? Or can you stop in at a Best Buy or Sprint Store to compare?

yes I do my sister has one as well and I put them side by side and mine def looks different.

Well, lets see...are they different ages, perhaps as they age, the LED changes?

Or the natural oils in your skin are coating the track ball causing it to look blue. Do you use the track ball more than your sis?

Trying to be helpful here, after all the silly remarks.

Thanks I really appreciate it :) She bought hers about a month after mine. I am going to try cleaning it with a little rubbing alcohol and see if maybe its just dirty or something. I think we probably use our track ball about the same.

Totally opposite of topic but...
I was searching google and I see a bunch of BB users have dyed their trackball with RIT dye. This is interesting lol
