What would you buy?

I would donate 99% to charity...

of the 1% of the money that I have left over. :P
Nice to meet you my name is charity :p

Seriously though with that much ridiculous $$$ of course I'd donate some. But I'd also buy my own F1 team

I would put away $30M for my daughter when she grows up she will have college money and extra to start whatever life path she decides to embark upon. I would buy some land somewhere in the midwest and build a decent sized house, nothing too ridiculous. I'd buy myself a Nissan Xterra or whatever nice crossover vehicle is available at the time. I would also get myself and my fiancee back into college to finish our degree.

Whatever money leftover is going into some CD and off-shore accounts for a rainy day.

You know...

I've heard a lot of people mention stuff like this.. however, it really does bug me because, it brings to mind poverty and all the arguments that go with it.

I am not totally against welfare, I believe it is our duty to help responsible people who need help. However, I think a lot of people don't realize that the only real solution to ending poverty (not that it will ever be entirely gotten rid of) is education..

"The curse of the lottery" list person after person who was dirty poor, won insane amounts of cash, and went back to being dirt poor in an amazing amount of time.

The truth is, when you get that much money yes it is a lot.. but, you still have to be realistic/responsible.

I am not against welfare but, I really think there needs to be some aggressive reforms geared towards education/responsibility.

Contrary to what seems to be popular belief, just because you have money doesn't mean you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth... money is an expendable resource people are all to eager to believe is endless..

I agree
Education is key
Some people waste theirs... :(
_______

Personally I think giving away such huge sums of money is insane... It would be better to have multiple prizes of a few million IMO

You can never lead a normal life with so much money.

I'd pay off my house, my parents and in laws houses, trade in my current SUV and pay off the difference for a new Tahoe for my wife, finish the couple of projects I needed to finish in the house (new carpets and tile, new kitchen, redo the backyard) buy myself a ducati streetfighter s as my splurge, then invest the rest for retirement and my kids college tuitions.

I'm not even going to pretend I'd live a "normal" life.

however, the truth is I have things I want now.

I have things I want long term.

I want to be a programmer.. I don't care if I win 180 million or not.. What I want to do in life is program. Call me eccentric.. but, I would have 180m and probably be working making 70k a year, for a boss who makes and has less than i do.. hell I would probably have more money than most of the CEO's in the company.. but, I sure as hell wouldn't "flash my cash" excessively or anything..

Sure I would buy my "goals" the over priced car, the house and every three years overhaul my PC.

But, these are all things I want whether or not I win 180m.

So to me.. it would mean I get all the things I want in life now.

And I have more time to dedicate to learning to program and bettering myself.

now.. i could be full of crap.. I could get the money and just try to live a meager life off it forever, or blow it all in one night..

But, honestly... I really like to think that it would just mean I get where I want to go in life faster, and have more time to enjoy being there.

I'm trying to enjoy the ride there as well but, man x.x

and lots of security.

$179M... I'd buy a house, pay off my college loans, and pay my Master's in cash. I'd invest the majority of it for my kids' college educations. I'd go to Japan, it is one of my biggest goals. Whatever is left over I would invest so that it could keep on building up. I'd continue to work, but my financee could stay home if she wanted to :)

I guess I got one of the good phones because my GPS works fine, and plus, theres always Mapquest. :p

They all have the same bugs. Sprint Advance Device is looking into fixes. It is at the top of their issues list.

Yea, I would take some of the money and make more money playing the stock market, buying and selling real estate, Money Market accounts, etc...

What would I buy? I new pair of oversized headphones for the house. I might even splurge and make em wireless...

Mansion in Toronto and one of these.

Oh God! I hope Lamborghini doesn't make this! If you want a family sedan buy a BMW, Benz, or anything else! Porsche made this mistake and I'm disgusted to see Lambo doing it!!!

For the person that said this isn't Lambo's first 4 door car, what was???

If I won this money I would buy a nice house with tons of property. Then I'd proceed to build an asphalt supermoto/gokart track and a motocross track. I'd also buy a beach house. I'd blow a lot on toys - Lambos, Ferraris, motorcycles, ATVs, and pit bikes of my dreams. I'd help my family out, donate to some charities, and invest the rest!

Would buy solar panels (and make frieds w/ les miles) and go get lost in the woods, only poke my head out into civilization long enough to get supplies

Don't forget Lamborghini was a tractor company first, and the founder a military engineer before that; this type of vehicle IS a Lamborghini, the super-cars came later.
Come on now. When is the last time Lamborghini sold a tractor?

Definitely not. That's more of a stretch than saying the same branch of Honda that makes cars is the same as the branch that makes Honda motorcycles.

And a quick Google search says Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. is owned by VW and Lamborghini Tractors is not.

So as I said, when was the last time the "real" Lamborghini made tractors???

How do we know they aren't both DBA"s of one larger corporation?
