What's for dinner ?

Last night I stopped at our local pizzeria for a calzone and it was GOOD. This evening I'll probably nuke a baked potato and keep it easy, since tomorrow the Darling Bride returns from another fishing outing and I'll be preparing Caprese Salad with homemade Asiago bread and White Zin to wash it down nicely.

Looks mighty bougie! I'm glad you enjoy it - but Grandma always taught us that "if you have to ask how much it is, you can't afford it." And the lack of prices on the menu is a huge red flag for me...
:p

The Asiago bread was a huge hit! Darling Bride's ready to blow up from eating too much. Thing is, it's so stupid easy to make that it almost makes itself!

Yesterday, I smoke a flatiron steak which we had with a veggie medley. Tonight I thinly sliced the remaining smoked beef and made a sandwich out of it with a bit of bbq sauce. I had chips with it and I made a quacamole dip.

Yesterday we waited for the turkey but was starving, so I had left over sausage pizza, and a quiche, so we ate together with everyone and had the nicest thanksgiving light dinner over tun.

tonight, seems though Mother has the pork defrosting for what I wonder..

And your assumption was spot on too, thanks.
We got power back on at about 5.30.
My daughter that stays about 35 minutes up the road said that she was told that it may be a week before theirs is back. The boss lady is still with her father and theirs is still out too.
That storm hit us worse than Hugo did.

Rainy weather, with low barometric pressure, just does the Darling Bride in with severe headaches and fibromyalgia. I decided to make a special Italian dinner for her, from scratch. Took all day but it was a hit!

First I made two loaves of bread:

I made linguine from scratch and had that ready to cook long before starting the appetizer, Bruschetta with white zinfandel:

For the main course, Mushroom Pasta:

She loved it, although I know I should have rolled out the pasta much thinner. Next time will be a knockout meal.

No shame in that, @olbriar - we quite often default to ramen, hotdogs or microwave burritos. Kitchenistas we're not! Until we move into a house with a substantially bigger kitchen, we only go all out on rare occasion. Tonight I'll make a simple caprese salad and have some of the leftover bread with it to sop up the olive oil.

A few days ago my mother did like a Pork Roast with potatoes and carrots, we had it for a spell and she make a sandwich out of it today .
