I'm grilling out some boneless skinless chicken thighs wrapped in bacon. Along with that I'm fixing some broccoli and rice. It's a beautiful evening here in doodah... grillin is a must.

Made this the other night, but thought I'd share.
I've never had a tuna melt
eek but thought, why wouldn't chicken salad work too?
Well IT DOES! Made a chicken salad, very plainly with some grapes. Toasted some bread with cheese, muenster I believe and slathered on the chicken salad. It was delicious.

Nobody is eating dinner anymore?! 
Tonight is a fridge cleanout since it's packed with all kinds of stuff/leftovers.
-Roast duck breast with a cherry/Port/balsamic pan sauce
-Sauteed green beans with some shallots
-Egg noodles with a seared cherry tomato cream sauce
-Basic salad with a vinaigrette made from shallots, lime juice, olive oil, cilantro, cumin (with sliced avocado and goat cheese)
By kitchen sink dinner, I really mean it's got some French, Italian and Latin flavors.
Tomatoes and green beans from my local farmer's market.
(tomorrow will be eggs and potatoes I also got from there)

I really only take food pics at home, look like an idiot doing it out at restaurants.
However, I'm baking off some bread tomorrow morning for our restaurant's photo shoot for Washingtonian magazine. Very stressful to have it come out perfect. I'll take some with my phone tomorrow when they come out.

Ah, Ramen eh, Mike? How's the instant stuff compare over there to what you get in the UK (or the States if you know)?
My youngest daughter is coming over and has requested I prepare her favorite dinner... a Birthday request Fried chicken strips and mashed potatoes and gravy. Nothing fancy... just plain ol' artery clogging dinner.

We had quite a spread last night, and someone else was paying the bill.
I only had something called Pot Noodle when I was in the UK, which was never particularly good and still felt hungry afterwards. I think they're better here. The instant beef noodle is the staple diet for long distance train and bus travel in China. They are cheap and very convenient of course. Some students that's all they seem to eat, despite the fact the school has a pretty good canteen. I did notice that the ones in HK seemed to have better quality ingredients, the sachets of dried meat, veg and spices that you add to the noodles. Although the HK ramen are significantly more expensive than the mainland ones.
There's two options available as well. One where it's in a pot, and just add hot water. Or where it's in a bag and you use your own bowl or pot. The bagged ones are half the price, because you're not buying a cardboard pot that you're supposed to recycle afterwards.
Two and a half helpings, and next comes pie!

Last night was the first time ever cooking lamb. Braised lamb shanks with mirepoix and chicken stock. Served with a quick cucumber, onion, tomato salad. Orzo with mint. Was pretty solid. Lamb wasn't my favorite, but liked it (really fatty). Wife loved it though so that's all that matters.
Tonight's meal is pretty darn basic. We are having breakfast for dinner lol. Sausage links. eggs, and pancakes will make the meal. Nothing fancy.. just pain ol good eating.

Tonight... burritos. I go the easy route and buy my tortillas and refried beans. This time of year I even purchase hot sauce... garden goodies are already consumed 
It's a quick and easy meal. Just going to brown some hamburger with some chili seasoning and diced onions. Zap my beans in the microwave until hot. Smear some beans and spoon some burger on a trotilla... a bit of hot sauce and some shredded mild cheddar. Roll em up, heat em up, and toss em in the face. Oh... the wife has to have some sour cream on hers.

Tonight, being the chilly night, it's soup and sammie.
Pea and cauliflower soup. Grilled cheese on freshly made focaccia. Some quickly sauteed green beans with almonds. Also, attempting a hand stirred frozen yogurt with bananas, dried cherries and almonds.
