What's holding you back?

I've been seriously considering switching back to a Nexus device with the release of the Nexus 5. So I'm wondering, what's holding you back? I'm a previous Nexus S owner and have moved away from Nexus devices due to no SD card slot and non removable batteries. Battery life is my main issue, I typically use my phone constantly at work and my GS4 battery will be dead after 6-8 hours. (3-4 hours of screen on time) I can't stand having my phone constantly plugged in, so it's an issue that I'm not sure I'm willing to deal with.

Aside from battery life, the reason I'm dying to switch is my current carrier. (Sprint is awful in my area.) I'm ready to switch back to a Nexus device, because I really miss stock Android and updates from Google. So there's definitely positives, but the negatives are huge hit for me. What's holding you back? and why are you considering the Nexus 5?

That's definitely another hoop I would have to jump through, but my wife is pretty sick of missing calls and terrible service on Sprint.
 
I was an avid nexus user until my Nexus 4 got stolen. I was forced to buy another phone and I decided to go with the HTC One (which I love). I did add the JUMP! program to my T-Mobile which allows me to upgrade to another phone (which will be the Nexus 5) in six months which I plan on doing.

I'm really missing T-Mobile's service, I've never had a problem with them. If I decide to go with the Nexus 5, I'll likely get on Jump. (It just depends on the price)

The price on the phone or jump? Jump is $10 a month added to your monthly cost and it also includes insurance. I hope the Nexus 5 isn't overpriced with T-Mobile. Hopefully they have it fairly priced like Google does.

The price of the phone. I typically pay for insurance anyways, so the cost of jump doesn't effect me. I felt T-Mobile was extremely overpriced when it came to the Nexus 4.

Yeah the Nexus 4 was overpriced by like $100 or so. Hopefully T-Mobile can be more reasonable this time.
 
The specs are holding me back because I don't know what they are. I'm the type of person who will buy the most powerful device available when it's time to upgrade and I would much prefer to have a Nexus verses another Samsung device (only because I prefer stock Android). That said, once the Kat is out of the bag I can weigh my options and keep my Note 3 or sell it and trade up.

I'm the same way. If the leaks are correct, it's likely that the Note 3 will still be a better option. (Better camera and more ram) These days I don't exactly expect Nexus devices to be top of the line. If it's at the same price point as the Nexus 4 it will sell itself, because you definitely get more for your money.
 
The leaks are correct. The Nexus 5 is posted on Google's site. My hangup is that I am on Verizon, and it is the only service that works in a few areas. I am however sick of their locked down phones, slow upgrade process and gradually increasing prices. Any for certain word if this thing will work for Verizon?
 
Price, and seeing what root/customization options become available. Maybe I'll check it out more closely after Xmas.

If it is the only service in your area, then you don't have a choice. Google hate Verizon so much bc Verizon wants to have more control. So Google doesn't care much about Verizon now.

I would go SIM phone and use Tmobile (if u have a choice).
 
I have to agree with some of the previous posters: price is the main factor that's holding me back right now. Where's the "Buy One-Get One" love?

You can guarantee that there will be plenty of root/customization options. Nexus devices always have a ton of support and are typically pretty easy to root. My Nexus S was my favorite device for flashing new roms on, there were so many rom/kernel combinations.
 
I agree, no memory card makes a difference. I really don't want to have different devices, in the house since we all use the same model. I would love to go with no bloatware though.
 
I imagine Kitkat will be available on the One at some point in the near future. I might give my HTC One to my wife and buy a Nexus 5 just so I can play with both.
 
What's holding me back? Waiting on tax season. That and the fact that I bought my LG Motion in March. Unless it breaks, my CFO (wife ;) )won't be ready for another new phone so quick.
 
I love the new Nexus 5.

But I also love my Nexus 4, and I JUST bought it in July. Making $400 a month as I finish my bachelor's degree, there is no way I could justify buying the N5. I only upgraded in July because my Captivate broke.
 
The only thing holding me back is that I don't have the funds until next week. Nexus 5......you're mine!
 
Only thing holding me back is Sprint =\ - The service in my area is horrible. T-Mobile is a little better in my area but not much =\ - I was waiting for the official announcement to decide but I will be forced to move to Verizon. I'm disappointed but I was always told never to pick a phone first and a carrier second. I learned my lesson with my Evo3D. Always pick the carrier with the best service in your area first.

Ohh well =(
