Yeah with a 4in screen, no development and the build quality like that of something from a dollar store. Also no ics and a smaller battery. They have legit 4g though :p

Ok thanks for the correction

AND the newest version of sense

It's not an Evo 4g, but I fail to see the severe lack of quality in anything except the camera buttons (which I admit are pretty crappy).

Most is high end or average,

i was talking about the evo 4g lte, i dont think that phone has ics (i may be wrong). But the evo v does have ics. Just to clear anything up. and just cause it has 2 microphones that dont mean you shouldnt buy it. That just means you will have better recorded audio. Ya know?

To me it feels cheap that's all I was trying to imply, its no where near as bad as huwaei bad but its not very good compared to the esteem and the esteem isn't that amazing either

People here throw around the evo name all over the place and it confuses the hell out of me, there's 3 evos lol I don't meant that at you though just in general

It has ics and sense 4.0 as some have previously said, but you're right just because it has some extras that I won't use doesn't mean that its not worth buying

I wish they had used more aluminum in the frame for a more quality feel, but those camera buttons are pathetic. Not sure how or why they let that slide.

I wouldn't say it's the best either, my Evo 4g was better, but meh. There are MUCH worse phones. It's not an Iphone if people are expecting it.

There is a whole lot more than just 3 Evos, but only 3 on Virgin.
When I say Evo 4g, I'm referring to the original Sprint Evo 4g that the Evo 3d replaced. To many people keep wanting to call the Evo V the Evo 4g and it has thrown people off.

We had the same problem in the Evo 4g forums, people were discussing the Evo V, Evo 3d, and Evo 4g and they weren't designating anything as the conversation went along, expecting others to refer back to their comments three posts back to figure out which phone they were talking about. It's a pain in the neck.

As similar as they are, people REALLY need to differentiate between the Evo V and the Evo 3d when discussing them. Yes, they are the same physically but the firmware makes them functionally different. We wouldn't have so many people asking questions about roms if they did.

umm, the lg connect does indeed have devs developing roms...it has a brighter screen...and better build quality, IMO....

No, it does not have ics...

Just saying, their are phones on other carriers that compare...and are prepaid.

Coming from the HTC Wildfire S, I bought this phone for the following reasons, none of which had to do with its 4G capability which isn't available in my area.

Its larger display means fewer typing errors and it's easier on my eyes.
It has a front facing camera.
It has a gig of internal memory. I now have 3 times the apps I had installed on my Wildfire and I still haven't used 50% of the available space.
Ice Cream Sandwich.
Dual Core processor. I have yet to find an app which can make this phone lag.
It's an Evo for crying out loud! VM has no better phone that this.

Metro isn't a national carrier and not available everywhere.

How is it not? They cover 90% of the USA...they cover much much more than virgin....

No they do not cover that same 90% with 4G LTE, unfortunatly...

Not trying to start a quarrel, just getting some facts straight.

I may just buy the wife the evo v as an upgrade from her Optimus v....I myself switched to metro to give them a shot....

No carrier covers 90 percent of the USA... Metro is a regional carrier not nationwide which means they have less coverage. I admit I don't know much about metro but I do know that they have less service area than Virgin and Virgin is not even close to covering 90 percent of America....

So does that mean that the evo 3d roms arent working for you guys, I thought all that was neccessary to port them over was some minor apn changes and such..

Yes the connect is brighter however the screen is still smaller and still has less dpi than the evo v 4g even though the screen is smaller. I'll admit it compares but not very well, yes it has the same chipset but there are things that make this phone the winner imchaaootmwata :smokingsomb:

They cover 90% through roaming partners...guess who that is... sprint... and who is vm off of.... sprint
However vm still has the upper hand since it can actually utilize sprints network as metro gives you 1x speed data when you are roaming.

I don't get metro in NC.

The Connect is really a failed Phone The LG Esteem Which that has No Dual Core or super Nova is better then the LG Connect . I know look the Esteem is a way better. But me for having the 2 the EVO is Killing the Esteem LOL I know I had it From the First Day it Came out and i mean the 2 phones

The roms don't work for MMS.
How hard it is to fix depends on the rom.

Sense based on Virgin, may just need the APN and maybe build.prop

Sense based on Evo 3d roms, good luck getting mms. Unless something canged.

Non sense roms, depends on the rom, some will not work. Some need build.prop, apn and a compatible cdmasmsdispatcher. The last file being the biggest issue.

As for Metro
Covering you with roaming is not coverage from them.

They only offer their phones and service for sale in areas they actually cover themselves, not in areas covered by roaming. No carrier wants you roaming 24/7 as it costs them money.

Never said it was prepaid cause you know on prepaid we get the dilapidated 5MP cameras instead of 8MP but no surprise there. And i just thought people on prepaid just wanted to save money or feared commitment Lol
Not true, the Evo Design 4G on Boost has an 8 MP camera, the Crapple iPhone 4S which is coming to Virgin was just upgraded from a 5 MP to an 8. Also the options available to the camera app on the Evo 3D are pretty astounding for a dilapidated camera. On sensors this small the compression algorithm has more effect on image quality then pixel count does. One last thing to keep in mind, these are phones that take amazingly decent images, not a camera that happens to make calls. Case in point, I would rather use the 3.2 MP on my Intercept than the 5 MP POS on my Triumph.

Well as long as you don't care much for mms then you are good to go then lol and yeah if you roam to an extent they kick you off.

Completely agree on my sensation pics were nice but not near the extent of the amaze, turns out htc put a limit of 2mb per picture, so the lens was doing great just the pictures were saved with compression that made em meh.. compression now that mods came out to remove it, pics are sometimes nearing 4mb that's nearly double the quality lol

I agree, above a certain pixel point, quality becomes more important.

You have to consider what you use pictures for. If you aren't printing them, a good quality 3meg is plenty. You can get a 15meg if you want, but if it takes junk pictures who cares.

On my 4g, every time I installed a rom and lost mms, someone sent me one. LOL

Oh, another thing, some roms are not liking our hboot apparently, and refuse to boot.

All providers spell it out in the TOS. If you're constantly roaming then either you're not on the right plan or you're on the wrong carrier.

You guys do know that megapixels really don't matter as much as people make it seem. It's the sensor in the lense that determines most of the picture quality along with some software side stuff.

Finally. That's why I never take pic with smartphone, event those said have 8MP or higher like the GS2 and the evo 4g. I own a slr, if you want to take decent picture you really need a "camera" not a phone camera. The evo v has a good 3D feature that not really much other portable devices have. It is fun to experiment with it.

Other than the camera, you pay for what you get. For this price, I think it is a good investment. Imagine those people who own a super car or a fast car, they still can only drive like 30 mph in the city. You always have those function on hand when you can use it.
