At least you won't see the fury that those storms showed Jefferson City."Strong thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon. Damaging winds and large hail with some storms."
Oh joy.
We had a little rain yesterday, and while watching the local news something struck me as funny: All the local newscasts show videos viewers have sent in--of rain. Seriously.
They also always stick some unlucky reporter (and camera person) out in the rain to show us that, you know, it's raining.
(If you're lost, here's the backstory: I'm a native Angeleno, but I lived in three other states before returning to SoCal for good in 2006. I lived through hurricanes (Florida) and tornadoes (in Tornado Alley, Dallas), with their torrential downpours and flooding. A gentle rain that lasts a few minutes is not newsworthy...to me. )
Summer in the South @olbriar?
I can't say. I'm in the Wichita area. Most of the rains have been across the Southern part of the state. I'm guessing that KC has not seen the rains that's fallen local to me. That is only my guess.@joe71 That's Summer to me.
I'm still wearing a sweater but I traded the short sleeved shirt for long sleeves and a sweater. My newspaper guy at my transit terminal told me "Feels like Winter again." I was like "Crazy huh?".
40's in Boston.
@olbriar I stayed in Kansas City for a week. Has the canal/creek overflowed?
