What's the weather like where you are?

Even though this is a major holiday in the US, I'm finally glad I work the overnight shift letting me avoid this weather.

I wouldn't want to be walking around when that wind kicks up this afternoon. :D

Wind has been kicking up here for several hours. About an hour ago I get a notification from the data center that everything has switched over to battery power. 40 minutes after that I get another notice that battery power is low and it's beginning to shutdown servers. All is dark now, but when the power is restored, I'll probably have to go in.

Merry Workmas.

Feels like -2 Fahrenheit in Mattapan MA., my little part of Boston MA USA!

Thankfully I don't have to go back out until much later this evening. Probably -20 by then.

Layers are our friends.

Blah blah blah... warm, sunny, dry, getting ready for more record breaking heat, just in time for the amazing Rose Parade tomorrow. I think I heard the bomber jets, out of Edwards AFB, practicing for it yesterday. On a typical New Year's Day they fly over my house at about three minutes before 8:00am, just before you see them on the telecast at the parade. AWESOME sight I must say.
