We had a lot of rain but not that much. The low areas flooded pretty badly here but they cleared out quickly after the rain stopped. It was bad in places but not like you had.

There are 15 reporting stations for precipitation in the county. From July 4th to August 4th the average total rainfall has been 12.59". That's more than three times the normal average of 4.09". And last night we got the whole month's worth in one event.
If we look at those stations reporting the highest rainfall total that number swells to 27". Granted there were a lot of localized downpours where a good cloudburst could drop 2" - 3" in an hour, but any way you slice it, that's a lot of water.

I got four inches in the last hour. Another tonado just missed me. About 2 miles away.

I have a basement, but the tornado risk is now past. Just have to watch out for flash flooding.

What strange weather we've been having...
My phone went off once all last summer (tornado warning), it's gone off twice this week (flooding) and a few times earlier (tornado).

I like this summer. Very little sweat.
I got a half inch of rain AM. It stayed super humid most of the day with low cloud cover. The humidity was just incredible. The sun peeked out around three this afternoon and started drying out the bog. Pleasant eighties temps but the humidity is still at 60%.

Yep, coming my way too.
A strange shower hitting one side of a 27 story building but no the other side. It did not extend accross the street on the shower side. I've seen the egde of a thunderstorm before but never so localized a shower.
Yup, they have scheduled more storms with heavy rain for later today. I fully expect my phone to yell at me for a flash flood alert at some point. Storms "could" be stronger today...they were pretty "strong" yesterday so...
OMG! I got one of those a couple of days ago. Sounded like a Nuclear Alert! When did Accuweather start doing that?

I've gotten 3 of them in the last 2 weeks, we've had a lot of rain. Mine are from the EAS (emergency alert system), not my weather apps (but they send me little ! to be sure I'm on top of it )
