What's the weather like where you are?

Feast or famine it seems. 1.54" this month and a whopping 7.1" for the year here at the olbriar ranch. I emptied my garden type rain gauge at the cabin last weekend. 2.7" in the last two weeks. 0.12" here. The cabin is 17 miles South of here. It comes close to raining here. Can even see the lightening... but no rain.

There's this strange bright round thing in the sky. It seems to be giving off quite a bit of infrared radiation. I think it's aliens.

The arrow is about where I am, just east of the really crazy-heavy stuff. My rain gauge puts us just under 8" since Saturday.

A "cold front" is moving across the state and the temps reflect that. There is rain in the forecast for the afternoon. I'd keep my fingers crossed but it makes it impossible to type.

We're already enjoying said front up here in the KC metro, temp is currently 68 degrees. It was 90 yesterday. We're overcast with the occasional spit of sprinkles.

It's 76° here. I just got in from mowing my Thursday's. It sprinkled on me a little on the last lawn but it felt great. My weather station shows no rain so that's how little it rained. I'm hoping for more. We sure need it here.

Sun --> Torrential Downpours --> Sun and Fog ---> Thunder, lightning, and heavy rain ---> 12 seconds of bright sun and rising steam ---> More intense thunder and lightning. That was all in the last 20-25 minutes. I think the temp is yoyoing between mid seventies and high eighties depending on whether it is raining or sunny at the moment.

Shredded rubber tire mulch has become quite popular here for the same reason. It's been so arid this year that there is no chance of mold on anything.

I've seen that in a few yards as well. The thing is that the township has a program where if you take your yard waste to their services building, they have an area where they chip up any trimmings and you can have all the free mulch you can carry ... but you can't be a professional landscaper and you must be a resident (and they check). So many of my neighbors have the free township crap loaded with fungus and mold.

I have the same scenario in place here. Convenient for brush and tree disposal but I shy away from their mulch.
I recently added to their pile by helping my son remove a dead pine tree. My comment then was, what will they ever do with those mountains of mulch?

We're okay. But there are a lot of washed out roads and trees down, not to mention flooded basements and two buildings reported collapsing foundations. Fun times. :thumbsdowndroid:
