Is there a tentative release date for Verizon?

Sarcasm aside, Aug. 12 is being thrown around, but who really knows. There haven't even been snaps of a VZW S2, but there is of Sprint.

My guess is before 8/12 - they are going to wanna grab market share from the iPhone 5 release in (sept. ?)

I too need it soon as I am using a broke as hell D1 that holds a charge for about 5 hours on standby - doesn't make the date change though

IMO there's only one way this phone hits Verizon in August before the Bionic and that's if it's only 3G. As Sanjay Jha said yesterday in his Q2 earnings call, the Bionic when released in September will be the first dual core LTE smartphone on Verizon. With the state of Motorola with the Xoom upgrade mess I would bet he wouldn't make a claim like that without first hand knowledge of it being factual.

If the SGSII does in fact come to VZW without an LTE radio I think it's a major, major failure.

The million dollar question. Im assuming you did some searching and found nothing so did you think someone would magically have the answer here?

I actually hope its only 3g as I live in an area with no 4g in the foreseeable future (Im sure another 2 years will come and go) and 4g phones are usually more. But thats selfish of me! haha
