Root Where to start learning ?

From being on here i feel i have learned a lot but nothing near all there is to know about androids "guts" i am really interested in learning terminology, themes, roms, maybe even kernels but idk even where to begin. where did you learn to do all this crazy stuff?
 
Google. If you cant find anything there on what youre looking for, then just wing it and start messing with stuff. Ive learned about 40%on how to do themes on Google and the other 55% by just winging it, and 5% by asking Ldrifta Ahaha
 
You can use any rom in the All Things Root Guide. If you use MTs, Playful God's, or LDriftas, and post it please give credit and give credit where credit is due. If you take the stock and do your own thing it's all yours! ;)

It depends on what your cooking. If its a theme, download someones theme and extract the meta-inf folder into your own theme. Same with roms, but get the meta-inf folder from a rom not a theme.
 
Start off slow. learn how to change the icons in your noti bar. Then learn how to change your font. Then change some colors around. Stuff like that. During the process of doing those easier things, you will see how everything works on the "inside" of an android file.

Thats how I learned. I didnt like certain things of a theme so I wanted to change them. So I opened up the guts of the files I wanted and compared them against a stock one to see what had been changed.

All the info is at your fingertips. Check the guide, theres several threads that have good how to info.

Tools you will def need. 7zip, Paint.net or gimp, www.androidcommander.com ,easy apk
