Help Where's the market gone?

Since my desire on orange updated to froyo, when I click on my market widget I get a message telling me that it won't connect (not the exact wording but I'm sure you get my drift). What's going on?

Can you open the market by clicking on hte market app?

No it says the linked program is no longer installed on your phone.

I'm afraid you may have to do a factory reset, blame the network for this. It's a known problem.. You can try installing the market from this link first, but i don't think it will work... Droid Den - App Guide: Add Froyo 2.2 Market To Eclair 2.1 Phones - Droid Den

What will happen with a factory reset? Sounds like I'll lose everything and the phone will be as it was when I took it out of the box. Am I right?
