Root Which MikG ROM?

I'm a recently-rooted newbie who is running the stock rom & kernel and I'm trying to download the latest MikG rom from here and I'm having some trouble. Which one should I download to the SD card?

v2.51 to 2.52 - Patch only?
v2.51 - Patch only (with kernel)?
v2.51 - Patch only (without kernel)?

Thanks!

You need to download MikG 2.5 first.

The other two that you have listed are patches to update MikG2.5

You can patch either with or without the kernel, depending on if you want to flash a different one or not.

First you need to download the actual rom which would be v2.5 which is directly under those link in the thread. Wipe cache, davlik-cache and data in that order once you get in recovery. Then flash the superswype zip which im guessing you have afterwards flash the rom v2.5 and then reboot your phones. Once you see everything is working properly then boot into recovery and and follow the same procedure except dont wipe the data to flash update v2.51(no patch) reboot phone and make sure everything is ok with phone. Reboot into recovery once more and follow same procedure without wiping data to flash v2.52 reboot and your good to go. afterwards you can figure out what kernel you want to choose to run with it. I hope this helps and doesnt confuse you more:cool:

You're able to flash the patches right after flashing the actual rom without restarting or wiping anything.

Restarting after each one is more of a conservative approach though.

lol, taking foreeeeeever to download the zip file, decided to DL it directly to the phone b/c my wireless tether is so slow that the DL keeps timing out everytime I get on the phone. I'm doing this primarily so that I install a new kernel, (goldenmonkey), which will allow me to install the WIRED tether app, (which I think utilizes the 4G and will hopefully be much faster). Crossing fingers now ;)

failure to install the main rom, I downloaded 2.51 it directly to the SD card, (didn't start on 2.52 yet), but it didn't show up in recovery when I attempted to install file from zip :(

if you used your phone to get 2.51 check your download folder. it should be there. you can use your recovery to navigate to that folder. there is no need to move it.

Success! Well, after I downloaded v2.52 I opened my "No Lock" app and shit started going crazy and force-closing so I re-flashed the v2.5 zip w/o the upgrade and it's handling quite nicely, think I'm gonna do a nandroid backup as is and try the upgrade later. Thanks for your help guys!

Good call on the nandroid backup. I always try to have one backed up from a fresh install in case things go wrong that I can't figure out.

Alright, so, I had some problems with the rom and I'm going to have to look for something else, whenever I attempted to tweek the personalize settings I kept getting multiple force close messages forcing me to resort to my nandroid backup :( ,,, so, I'm on the prowl for something else.
